Account Management Director

Overview:
The Account Management Director is a senior individual contributor responsible for leading a portfolio of CareCentrix’s most strategically significant health plan clients. These partners operate across multi-state footprints and leverage multiple CCX solutions, creating the opportunity to manage complex, high-value relationships while developing deep product and industry expertise.

This role requires a deeply client focused leader, someone who genuinely lives and breathes client relationships, instinctively anticipates client needs, and builds trust at every interaction. You will serve as a trusted advisor to executive stakeholders while owning the strategic direction, performance, and growth of your accounts—balancing client goals with CareCentrix’s business objectives to deliver measurable outcomes.

Success in this role is defined by exceptional client retention, expansion of existing partnerships, and the ability to translate evolving client needs into actionable strategies that generate sustained, mutual value.
Responsibilities:
  • Own the strategic leadership of a defined portfolio, establishing a multi-year vision aligned to client objectives, retention, and revenue growth
  • Serve as a trusted executive advisor, building and maintaining deep C-suite relationships that drive long-term partnership value
  • Develop and execute comprehensive account plans that clearly articulate value, guide renewals, and identify expansion opportunities
  • Leverage a strong understanding of client business models, contracts, and financial drivers to proactively identify risks and growth opportunities
  • Apply financial and performance analytics to evaluate account health, profitability, and value realization for both the client and organization
  • Provide strategic oversight of account execution, ensuring cross-functional alignment and delivery against contractual commitments
  • Act as an executive sponsor for key client initiatives, influencing priorities and outcomes across operations, clinical, product, and technology teams
  • Lead complex negotiations, escalations, and risk mitigation efforts with a focus on preserving relationships and long-term trust
  • Translate client strategies into internal priorities, aligning stakeholders and driving accountability across the organization
  • Facilitate executive-level governance forums including Joint Operating Committees (JOCs), business reviews, and strategic planning sessions
  • Analyze market trends, performance data, and industry dynamics to inform client strategy and decision-making
  • Oversee implementation and integration efforts, ensuring coordinated execution across internal and external stakeholders
  • Mentor and guide Lead and Senior Account Managers, elevating strategic thinking, financial acumen, and best practices across the team
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of healthcare industry experience, with specific exposure to managed care and the health plan space. DME and/or network management experience preferred
  • Proven success managing complex, enterprise-level client relationships with accountability for retention, growth, and performance outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted, executive-level client relationships and influence senior stakeholders internally and externally
  • Strong financial acumen, including experience with P&L management, margin optimization, and contract economics
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to translate data into strategic insights and actionable plans
  • Expertise in account planning, client strategy development, and navigating complex organizational environments
  • Exceptional executive communication and facilitation skills, with experience leading high-stakes discussions and negotiations
  • Experience with CRM tools and advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong data governance mindset, ensuring accuracy and integrity to support decision-making and client outcomes
  • Demonstrated leadership presence as a senior individual contributor, including mentoring, coaching, and influencing cross-functional teams
