<p><strong>Job Title:</strong></p> <p>Assistant Controller</p> <p><strong>Location:</strong></p> <p>Remote (U.S. based)</p> <p><strong>FLSA Classification</strong></p> <p>Exempt</p> <p><strong>Job Description:</strong></p> <p>We are seeking an Assistant Controller to support the accounting and financial operations of Orbital Engineering, Inc., Valve48, and EIP. This role will play a key part in managing day-to-day accounting activities, financial reporting, budgeting, month-end close, and compliance across multiple entities. The position will help ensure accurate financial records, strong internal controls, and adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) while supporting the continued growth of the organization.</p> <ul> <li>Assist with the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of the organizations.</li> <li>Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, including preparation of financial statements and management reports.</li> <li>Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and analysis of operating results against budget.</li> <li>Help maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accurate financial reporting.</li> <li>Support compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements.</li> <li>Coordinate with external auditors and assist with audit preparation and related documentation.</li> <li>Partner with operational leaders to provide financial information and support business decision-making.</li> <li>Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and operational efficiencies.</li> <li>Assist with cash flow monitoring and financial planning activities.</li> <li>Support the development and mentoring of accounting staff as the department grows.</li> <li>This position will support Orbital Engineering, Valve 48, and EIP through a shared services model, with an anticipated time allocation of approximately 50%, 25%, and 25%, respectively.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Other Duties</strong></p> <p>Please note that this job posting does not list all duties and responsibilities that are required of this job. Finance or Accounting degree is preferred, plus five to ten years of experience in a senior level finance or accounting position.</li> <li>CPA is preferred.</li> <li>Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.</li> <li>Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.</li> <li>Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.</li> <li>Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.</li> <li>Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.</li> <li>Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.</li> <li>Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.</li> <li>Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Location Note:</strong></p> <p>This is a hybrid or remote position.
