Business Development Lead – AWS Expertise - Remote

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Freelance/Part-Time Business Development Lead (BDL) to join Loka, the 2024 AWS Innovation Partner of the Year, for a 3-month experiment. This initiative is designed to drive pipeline growth and strengthen our position as a top AWS partner.

At Loka, we’re not just another AWS consultancy—we’re a team that thrives on building cutting-edge solutions. In the last year alone, we’ve helped advance the world’s #1 AI reading tutor, eliminate $1B in food waste, and accelerate novel drug development for fighting cancer. We move fast, work with top-tier clients, and focus on impact. Now, we’re looking for a Business Development Lead who can work with our CMO and sales team to help us unlock new opportunities through AWS-funded campaigns and strategic outreach.

As a BDL, you’ll play a pivotal role in generating and nurturing leads, strengthening relationships with Loka and AWS sales teams, and helping architect a scalable BD process. To start, this is a part-time role (50-100 hours/month) with the goal to scale into a full-time position if the experiment proves successful. If you’re hungry to make an impact in a fast-moving, results-driven environment, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Generation:
    • Drive 50–65 Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs) and 6–13 Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs) through targeted AWS-funded campaigns.
    • Focus on SMB and startup lead generation and outreach.
  • Pipeline Development:
    • Identify and nurture new opportunities aligned with AWS funding programs such as MAP and SMB-focused offers.
    • Build and manage a self-controlled pipeline, positioning Loka as a preferred partner for AWS initiatives.
  • Execution and Reporting:
    • Bring your expertise to build and maintain structured outreach processes.
    • Provide CMO weekly updates on lead generation, pipeline progress, and AWS feedback.
    • Contribute to a final Q2 review assessing success metrics, ROI, and recommendations for scaling.

Key Metrics for Success:

  • 50–65 MQLs
  • 6–13 SQLs
  • 1-2 closed deals within the 3-month period
  • Strengthened AWS relationships and positive feedback from stakeholders
  • Clear ROI and a path to scalable BD processes for future campaigns

Who You Are:

  • Proven Experience:
    • 3–5 years of business development or sales experience, ideally in the cloud, SaaS, or tech ecosystem.
    • Experience working with AWS sales teams or cloud-focused campaigns.
  • Skilled Communicator:
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills for building trust with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Expertise in crafting compelling outreach messages aligned with AWS-funded efforts.
  • Strategic and Analytical:
    • Results-driven with a focus on metrics, ROI, and strategic alignment.
    • Ability to manage multiple campaigns and assess their effectiveness with data-driven insights.
  • Self-Starter with Structure:
    • Comfortable working in a part-time, freelance capacity with minimal supervision.
    • Availability during early and core US business hours.
    • Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working within a tightly scoped role.
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency (Green Card holder)
