Business Development Manager - Midwest US

<p>Location: Remote / Field-Based (50–60% Travel)<br>Industry: HVAC, Building Products, Industrial Distribution</p> <p>RectorSeal is seeking a driven, hunter-minded <strong>Business Development Manager</strong> (BDM) to accelerate growth for Aspen Manufacturing’s Coils and Air Handlers across wholesale distribution, contractor networks, and strategic accounts. This role is ideal for a proactive sales professional who thrives on autonomy, builds strong channel relationships, and consistently converts new opportunities into long-term revenue. This role is remote and serves our Midwest Territory (IL, MO, KS, IA, WI, MI). The ideal candidate must reside in the Continental US on a full-time basis. Preference will be given to candidates who reside within the sales territory.</p> <p><strong>What You’ll Do:</strong></p> <p>New Business Development<br>• Identify, target, and secure new distributors, contractors, and strategic accounts to expand Aspen’s market footprint<br>• Develop and execute territory-level business development plans aligned with RectorSeal’s growth strategy<br>• Build a strong pipeline through proactive prospecting, outbound engagement, and market intelligence<br>• Lead product introductions, demos, and value-driven conversations to win new customers<br>• Drive adoption of Aspen products among existing RectorSeal distributors by uncovering whitespace opportunities</p> <p>Account Expansion & Channel Growth<br>• Support distributor sales teams to increase product awareness, stocking levels, and sell-through performance<br>• Conduct strategic business reviews with new accounts to accelerate early-stage growth and ensure retention<br>• Collaborate with channel marketing on targeted campaigns, promotions, and field training<br>• Monitor competitive activity and provide insights to strengthen product positioning and market strategy</p> <p>Training & Product Enablement<br>• Deliver technical and commercial training to distributors, contractors, and field sales teams<br>• Serve as the subject matter expert for Aspen products in assigned territories<br>• Support trade shows, counter days, and field events to maximize visibility and engagement</p> <p>Cross-Functional Collaboration<br>• Partner closely with Wholesale Sales, Product Management, Channel Marketing, and Customer Service to align customer needs with company initiatives<br>• Maintain accurate forecasts, pipeline updates, and performance metrics in CRM tools<br>• Support field sales colleagues with joint calls, opportunity development, and onboarding</p> <p><strong>What You Bring:</strong><br>• High School Diploma and/or equivalent or higher<br>• 5+ years of b2b sales in HVAC, building products, or industrial distribution <br>• Comfortable with significant field travel (50–60%)<br>• MS Office Proficiency (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)</p> <p><strong>Preferred Qualification:</strong><br>• HVAC experience with condensate pumps or related solutions</p> <p><strong>Key Competencies:</strong><br>• Proven success in new business acquisition and territory development<br>• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to installers, distributors, and executives<br>• Strong analytical, planning, and presentation skills<br>• Hunter mentality with demonstrated new account success<br>• Strong relationship builder across multiple channel layers<br>• Strategic thinker with attention to detail and execution<br>• Results-oriented with strong ownership and accountability<br>• Collaborative mindset across sales, marketing, and product teams</p> <p><strong>Success Indicators:</strong><br>• Growth in new distributors, contractors, and strategic accounts<br>• Increased Aspen revenue across new and existing channels<br>• Improved sell through driven by training, promotions, and field engagement<br>• Strong pipeline accuracy and territory coverage<br>• High CRM utilization and reduced time to close</p> <p><strong>Work Environment</strong><br>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an office environment.
