Carpenter (Roofing Experience Required)

Job Summary

Avante Quality Corp. is looking for a skilled carpenter with roofing experience to join our team. This position involves working on commercial roofing projects, including woodwork, structural repairs, and roof-related carpentry tasks. We are looking for someone reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working at heights.

Responsibilities

  • Perform carpentry work related to roofing systems
  • Repair and replace wood decking, fascia, and blocking
  • Assist with roof system installations and modifications
  • Read and follow plans, drawings, and field instructions
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Work alongside crew members to complete projects efficiently
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2–3 years of carpentry experience (roofing preferred)
  • Experience with roof decking and structural wood repairs
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely
  • Comfortable working on ladders and at heights
  • Reliable transportation
  • Strong work ethic and punctuality
Preferred (not required):
  • Experience with commercial roofing systems
  • OSHA certification
Duties
  • Perform roofing installation, repair, and restoration work using various materials such as shingles, metal, or membrane systems
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure precise project execution
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment safely and efficiently on construction sites
  • Conduct heavy lifting of materials and equipment to support roofing tasks while adhering to safety standards
  • Utilize construction estimating skills to assess project scope, materials needed, and labor requirements
  • Apply caulking, trim carpentry, stucco finishing, and masonry techniques as needed for roofing projects
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure adherence to project timelines and quality standards
Skills
  • Extensive experience in roofing systems and related construction processes
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, and fabrication equipment
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
  • Knowledge of construction estimating methods for roofing projects
  • Skilled in using heavy lifting techniques safely on construction sites
  • Experience with framing carpentry, metal stud framing, plumbing integration, masonry work, and remodeling is a plus
  • Familiarity with welding techniques and tile laying for specialized roofing applications
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols related to construction site work and roofing operations
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing project requirements
  • Handyman experience beneficial for multi-trade coordination
