Certified Middle and High School Computer Science Teacher for 2026–2027 School Year

Mater Academy Charter Middle/High School, a college-preparatory public charter school in Miami-Dade County, is seeking a dynamic, knowledgeable, and innovative Computer Science Teacher to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year.

This position focuses on teaching middle and high school computer science courses, helping students develop skills in programming, computational thinking, digital literacy, and emerging technologies while preparing them for future academic and career opportunities in technology fields.

Preference will be given to applicants with a valid Florida Teaching Certificate and those with Industry Certification experience.

  • Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher (required)
  • Florida Department of Education Certification in Computer Science, Business Education, Engineering & Technology Education, or a related field
  • (Temporary, Professional, or Statement of Eligibility accepted)*
  • Industry certification experience preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of teaching experience preferredKey Responsibilities
  • Create engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and computer science frameworks
  • Teach topics such as programming, computational thinking, digital literacy, and emerging technologies
  • Implement effective classroom management to maintain a positive learning environment
