Your Role

  • You will be part of the team that is responsible for delivery of the development tools to support all Software Engineering activity across the Airbus Defence and Space business.  This team is an integral part of Airbus Defence & Space IT department and is building and operating a new Software development environment on the Airbus Defence & Space multi countries private cloud.

  • As an experienced Cloud & Devops engineer you will join a team that is designing, developing , supporting and maintaining a DEVOPS  toolset as SaaS for use by the Airbus Defence & Space software communities.

  • You will work closely with these Airbus Defence & Space Software Engineering teams to identify and define new requirements and plan the delivery of enhanced services.

  • You will have a role with end to end responsibility, from requirements to support and maintenance, ensuring the solution offers up-to-date technology while also ensuring that the solution meets the real current needs of the end users.

  • This role will involve some business travels in Europe and as such you must be able to travel when needed.

 Your responsibilities and key activities

  • Work with the Airbus Defence & Space software engineers communities  to formulate and analyse functional enhancements requests

  • Identify needed enhancements of our own DEVOPS chain, release pipeline and  test pipeline

  • Design the solutions which fit the needs above

  • Create docker images and develop CI/CD pipelines to allow fully automated deployment of tools as SaaS on the Airbus Defence & Space private cloud, in all home countries (France, UK, Germany and Spain)

  • Coordination with other Digital international teams (Private cloud supplier, Back Office, Networks, Security, Front Office, Software Engineering) with respect to service provision, needs and demands of assets, software products and licenses

  • Provide models and frameworks for qualification test scenarios used in acceptance campaigns with respect to the delivered solutions

  • Communicate and work with business subject matter experts and Software Engineering software vendors / suppliers

  • Keep up to date with new infrastructure and software technologies.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Superior degree in computer science, Engineering, technical field or equivalent practical experience.

  • At least 3 years of experience working in an IT environment.

  • Experience in one of the following: Development in a main stream language, Infrastructure, Networking, DevOps, Security, Docker, Kubernetes or Openshift.

  • You are curious about the new technologies linked to DEVOPS approach

  • Strong experience in the following areas:

  • Standard developer toolset including CI/CD pipelines (VSCode, Git, Jenkins,  Artifactory, …)

  • One of the most used development languages (Python Javascript, java, … ), test driven coding

  • Linux automation with Ansible.

  • One of the cloud technologies and its API (AWS, Azure or GCP)

  • Docker and one of the container orchestration technologies (Kubernetes , OpenShift or Swarm)

Comprehensive understanding of:

  • Standard web application design and API principles

  • Security best practices and authentication protocols

  • IT infrastructures components role (firewalls, proxies, Active Directory, storage …)

  • You show availability, tenacity, adaptability, flexibility and team spirit

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an advanced level of English and French languages to present ideas and proposed solutions in an adopted language.

  • Customer focused with a priority to deliver great customer service.

  • Analytical skills and the ability to produce clear technical documentation.

  • Understanding IT issues from the business perspective.
