Key Responsibilities (What You Are Doing) Write, update, and edit 1-3 shopping-focused stories daily across multiple Hearst brands, with a focus on tech products, deals, and launches Identify and pitch timely, data-informed content ideas that drive affiliate commerce revenue Track and analyze content performance to uncover trends and optimize future editorial strategies Stay ahead of the latest tech deals, product releases, and shopping events, partnering with key retailers to plan coverage Collaborate closely with the central commerce team to uphold editorial best practices and achieve revenue goals Optimize content for SEO, social, and audience engagement across platforms Translate complex tech topics into clear, accessible, and engaging content for a broad audience Qualifications (What We're Looking For) 4+ years of experience in writing and editing, including at least 1 year at a digital-first outlet Strong background or demonstrated interest in commerce and consumer technology Exceptional writing and self-editing skills, with the ability to produce clean, accurate, and on-brand copy quickly Proven ability to use analytics and data tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Looker, Skimlinks) to inform editorial decisions Solid understanding of SEO, social media, and content packaging best practices Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work both independently and collaboratively Strong communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics for a general audience Availability to support coverage during major shopping events and holidays Based in or able to work in New York City with a hybrid schedule (4 days per week in-office) Benefits (What We Offer) Work with the
