About the Legal, Compliance, and Public Affairs team The Legal, Compliance, and Public Affairs team is a group of dedicated professionals committed to helping Affirm scale, innovate, and provide outstanding products for consumers, merchants, and key partners. We combine legal, compliance, and policy expertise to guide growth, shape products, and build trust across our ecosystem. Our work spans multiple professional disciplines and provides the foundation for Affirm’s mission to deliver honest financial products. Affirm’s Compliance team designs and implements a compliance program that proactively addresses regulatory requirements while also identifying potential compliance issues that may arise. Compliance program activities include advisory, training, testing & monitoring, reporting and oversight. Although a second line of defense, compliance partners with the business to support new products, markets, and initiatives, as well as issue identification, remediation plans and risk assessment. Compliance uses multiple data sources to enable informed decision making, strengthen controls and provide for better treatment of consumers. Affirm is currently in search of a proficient FinTech Compliance Lead, Network Growth, to become a part of our Compliance Advisory team. The Compliance Lead, Network Growth, will play a pivotal role in ensuring our business partners adhere to all relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial services compliance, a keen understanding of the fintech landscape, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments. As the Compliance Lead, you will work alongside the wider legal and compliance teams to identify and evaluate risks within applicable requirements, and offer guidance on mitigating potential risks. This role will report to the Compliance Manager and will be required to work independently and cross-functionally. What You'll Do - Collaborate closely with the Merchant Risk team to identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks associated with merchant and platform partners. - Review and approve financial services marketing materials to ensure they comply with regulations and industry standards. - Work cross-functionally with departments such as Compliance, Legal, Risk, and Revenue to complete reviews and address compliance issues and their root causes. - Contribute to the development and maintenance of compliance training and reference materials. - Operate in a fast-paced environment while delivering detailed and diligent work. - Support the completion of the compliance risk assessment and control inventory, including gathering, organizing relevant information and documenting results. - Serve as a proficient advisor on regulatory compliance, specifically as it relates to merchant and partner integration with Affirm. What We Look For - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (Compliance certifications a plus). - 5+ years of professional work experience in a compliance advisory role. - Experience working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments. - Experience advising revenue-generating stakeholder groups. - A strong interest in fintech and consumer financial protections. - Working knowledge of consumer financial laws and regulations, including UDAAP, CAN-SPAM, FCRA, TCPA, TILA (Reg. Z), ECOA (Reg. B), EFTA (Reg. E), TISA (Reg. DD). - Inquisitive and proactive in identifying problems and proposing creative solutions and ability to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment. - Ability to work in a self-directed environment with excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving ability, who can assist with minimal guidance. - Outstanding verbal and written communication with the ability to clearly present complex and contentious issues. Pay Grade - J Equity Grade - 4 Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills. Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents). In addition, the employees may be eligible for equity rewards offered by Affirm Holdings, Inc. (parent company).
