Be part of what truly makes us special and impactful. The Opportunity USAA is seeking a dedicated Creative Product Marketing Lead to join the Life Insurance Marketing Team. The Creative Product Marketing team executes the creative strategy that drives acquisition of LifeCo products. Creative Product marketers work with Product Marketers, Channel Management, Digital and analytics partners to execute the creative vision and messaging that drives member activity throughout all levels of the sales funnel. Successful team members are highly collaborative, are performance motivated and work well in a matrix-leader environment. Personal accountability and being results oriented are a must. As a Creative Product Marketing Lead, you will support the creative marketing strategy for LifeCo products. You will support the development of in-market assets, owning the execution of advertising concepts and delivering them to USAA’s various marketing channels. You will use data to drive your recommendations and decisions for managing new and existing creative. You will be responsible for creative decisions and deliver performance analysis, results and recommendations to LifeCo leadership. This role partners closely with internal and external agency partners, stakeholders, and executive management to identify breakthrough creative concepts, to understand business needs, prioritize work, and identify new capabilities required of the best-in-class creative team. Partner with product and UX leadership to maintain design consistency across the entire company. This role is remote eligible in the continental U.S. with occasional business travel. However, individuals residing within a 60-mile radius of a USAA office will be expected to work on-site four days per week. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the development and implementation of the creative and marketing communication strategy, campaign ideas, marketing communication plans and the development, creation, and optimization of the campaign assets for products they support.
  • Advance knowledge of business drivers, relevant consumer, customer, and channel trends and insights to lead the marketing communications strategy of each product.
  • Provides input into management on the creative marketing budget and partners with external agencies ensuring that business objectives are achieved efficiently.
  • Explores innovative ways to continuously build product presence through best-in-class creative assets; recommends new trends and positioning opportunities to drive marketing efficiency.
  • Advocates for the future strategy and growth plans for all products in the purview.
  • Participates or may lead the agile marketing process.
  • Leads the process and timeline for delivering integrated marketing plans from business review through activation and optimization.
  • Deep understanding of the Integrated Marketing Communications Plan (IMCP); leads the development of the activation (creative) briefs.
  • Provides input into the development of the Brand Strategic Positioning.
  • Knowledge in product related regulations, and risk and compliance requirements.
  • Keeps USAA brand and our mission to serve the military community at the forefront of our creative marketing assets.
  • Provides coaching and training to team members.
  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Business Administration OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree. (Total of 12 years of experience without Bachelor degree of Arts or Bachelor of Business Administration )
  • 8 years of relevant work experience, including hands-on experience in developing and managing creatives.
  • Extensive experience in collaborating with key partners and stakeholders, influencing decisions, and managing work to achieve strategic goals.
  • Strong business acumen in the areas of business operations, industry practices and emerging trends.
  • Ability to develop a creative product strategy - ability to develop a look-and-feel for fin serv products.
  • Ability to create test-and-learn agenda, analyze and interpret test data and create new hypotheses through customer and competitor insights.
  • Extensive experience in Product Marketing, including understanding of specific laws and rules that govern consumer products.
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to adjust communication style based on the audiences.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze and evaluate information.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment by using information and knowledge to make timely, effective decisions.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to adjust scope or resources as appropriate, mitigating potential risk to projects.
