<p><strong>Editor (Contract)</strong></p><p>Position Type: Contract (Backfill Cover) Term: August 15, 2026 - October 15, 2026</p><p>Location: Remote</p><p><strong>Role Overview:</strong> RealAgriculture is seeking a sharp, agile Contract Editor to step in and keep our digital content engine firing on all cylinders. This role is less about pushing buttons behind a soundboard and more about driving the editorial ship for Canada's digital ag authority.</p><p>You will be responsible for chasing stories, shaping digital content, and managing the guest pipeline for our flagship properties, ensuring RealAgriculture.com remains the go-to source for the industry.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Drive the Editorial Funnel: Work closely with the entire content team to pitch, assign, and shape high-performing articles and digital pieces for RealAgriculture.com.</li><li> Story & Guest Chasing: Monitor social media, industry news, and breaking ag trends to identify unique angles, hot topics, and the smart, articulate voices needed for written features and guest spots.</li><li>Email Planning: Ensure that the RealAg emails have enough stories based on what readers need to know in the specific email categories.</li><li>Optimize Content Performance: Analyze internet traffic, audience feedback, and social media performance to push for fresh angles, follow-up stories, or better representation of diverse viewpoints. </li><li>Multimedia Collaboration: Brainstorm ideas and source guests for webinars, podcasts, and video series, ensuring a seamless bridge between written editorial and digital media.</li><li>Content Repurposing: Facilitate the extraction of key highlights, quotes, and clips from our media properties to turn them into sharp editorial write-ups or social-first content (collaborating closely with our social media coordinator).</li></ul><p><strong>Candidate Profile:</strong></p><ul><li>Senior Editor with a background in Journalism, or a Journalism degree.</li><li>Experience in the Agriculture industry is an asset, but not required.</li></ul><p><strong>What Makes This Role So Great:</strong></p><ul><li>The Ag Media Leader: Your work will be seen by the entire industry.</li><li>Unique Culture: We operate with a fast-paced, collaborative, and unique work culture that values autonomy and accountability to each other and the audience.</li><li>Creative Freedom: We don't just report the news; we analyze it and provide perspective.
