Engineer Co-Op Undergraduate Level - Summer 2024

This is a hybrid position, with preference for the candidate to be located within 50 mi of our Mason, OH Elevance Health office.

The Elevance Health Intern Program allows students to gain real-world work experience in their academic field. During the summer months, interns will engage in challenging projects evolving around the rapidly changing healthcare tech industry. Interns are paired with industry professionals and mentors and will be given opportunities to stretch their skills and enrich their knowledge base to achieve a greater understanding within technology.

Interns will apply technical knowledge and skills to performing meaningful work focused on leadership, and business acumen. Will perform work utilizing technologies and tools to solve complex business problems, innovating on potential future solutions, and working with technology to translate innovations into robust, scaled, solutions and actionable results.

Engineering Interns will be assigned to a specific group within Global Chief Information Office based on skill set and need of the business.

Students should have experience and education in:

  • Python, R, Java, C/C++, C#, Angular, HTML
  • SAS SQL Databases, Querying languages
  • Text Analytics and Natural Language Processing, Sequence Labeling
  • Machine learning, Probabilistic and Statistical Learning Methods
  • Deep Learning, recurrent neural networks, Convolutional neural networks
  • Emerging topics in artificial intelligence, intelligent systems, conversational bots, and knowledge representation and reasoning
  • Advanced user of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Proven analytical skills, excellent written and oral communication abilities

Qualifications

  • Pursuing an undergraduate level degree at the University of Cincinnati in one of the following fields: Computer Science, Compute Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Science, or similar.
  • Available May 6 - August 3, 2024
  • Graduation date between August 2024 to May 2025
  • GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Advanced user of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day
  • Students must be authorized to work in the U.S. without future visa sponsorship requirements

Preferred Skills:

  • Has develop advanced cloud platform integration system - EDS
  • A background of Containerization, Docker containers and Micro Services.
  • Microservice Developer experience of at least one of the following tech stacks and willing to learn more: JAVA, Node JS, Angular, Python, AWS Scripts
  • Foundational understanding of Terraform
  • Foundational understanding of CI/CD developer tools like Tekton, OCP, Bamboo, bitbucket, Jenkins & Jira
  • foundational understanding on cloud native service like AWS EC2,S3, EKS, API Gateway, IAM, RDS, ELB, etc.,
