In this vital role as Executive Director, GMA, GU, GI & Hematology Platform Lead you will lead the Global Medical Affairs strategies for Amgen’s GU, GI, and Hematology portfolio of marketed and pipeline assets.  You will manage a team of Global Medical Affairs Leads and International Medical Directors to drive the development and execution of integrated oncology and hematology medical strategies that maximize Amgen’s scientific and clinical value proposition in alignment with product and franchise objectives.</p><p></p><p>This role will provide enterprise leadership across evidence generation, scientific communication, launch excellence, congress strategy, external engagement, medical education, and strategic partnerships. The successful candidate will collaborate extensively with cross-functional stakeholders to shape medical strategy throughout the lifecycle of GU, GI, and Hematology assets, including both marketed products and pipeline programs.</p><p></p><p>In addition to overseeing the GU, GI & Hematology Medical Affairs Platform, this role will partner with leaders across Global Development, Commercial, Access, R&D, and regional medical organizations to support the advancement of innovative therapies and optimize scientific engagement with the external oncology and hematology communities.</p><p></p><p>Amgen continues to rapidly advance its oncology and hematology pipeline, requiring strong leadership to build scalable medical capabilities, support launch readiness, drive external scientific engagement, and ensure alignment across global and regional stakeholders.</p><p></p><p>This role will serve as a key member of the Global Medical Affairs Oncology & Hematology leadership team and will report to the Vice President, Global Medical Affairs Therapeutic Area Head.</p><p></p><p><b>Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li><p>Serve on the Global Medical Affairs leadership team to help shape Oncology and Hematology strategic priorities</p></li><li><p>Lead the development and execution of integrated global medical strategies across GU, GI, and Hematology portfolios</p></li><li><p>Partner with cross-functional leaders in Global Development, Commercial, Access, R&D, and regional medical teams to ensure alignment on scientific and medical objectives</p></li><li><p>Leading and developing Global Medical Affairs Leads to drive excellence in launch planning, evidence generation, scientific communication, congress strategy, medical education, and stakeholder engagement</p></li><li><p>Oversee the global congress strategy and scientific engagement activities across GU, GI, and Hematology, ensuring strategic prioritization, cross-functional alignment, and budget stewardship across regions</p></li><li><p>Drive the development of scientific narrative frameworks, core content, educational initiatives, publications strategies, and external engagement plans</p></li><li><p>Engage with key opinion leaders, cooperative groups, professional societies, and academic networks to strengthen Amgen’s scientific partnerships and reputation</p></li><li><p>Support strategic planning and execution of medical education initiatives across physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and patient-focused stakeholders</p></li><li><p>Collaborate with Field Medical leadership to develop a coordinated approach to external engagement and insight generation</p></li><li><p>Ensuring capture, analysis, and dissemination of scientific insights and emerging trends from congresses, professional societies, and external stakeholder interactions</p></li><li><p>Support launch readiness and lifecycle management activities for both marketed and pipeline assets</p></li><li><p>Provide strategic input into reimbursement, access, and value-based partnership initiatives</p></li><li><p>Lead resource planning, prioritization, and budget allocation to support Medical Affairs objectives</p></li><li><p>Drive innovation and operational excellence, including the integration of AI-enabled solutions across medical engagement, congress planning, stakeholder management, and medical operations</p></li><li><p>Recruit, develop, and mentor high-performing Medical Affairs teams while fostering a collaborative, patient-focused culture</p></li><li><p>Continuing to strengthen Amgen’s reputation as a science-driven, patient-focused partner within the oncology and hematology communities</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>What we expect of you</b></p><p>We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients.
