Manage train movements: You will be responsible for managing the movement of trains, including making sure they are on schedule, handling any delays or emergencies, and making necessary adjustments to routes. Inspect trains: Before and after each trip, you will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections of the train and its components to ensure they are in proper working order. Communicate with crew and dispatch: As a Freight Conductor, you will need to effectively communicate with your crew members and the train dispatchers to coordinate train movements and ensure a smooth operation. Handle paperwork: Freight Conductors are responsible for completing and submitting various forms and paperwork related to train operations, including incident reports, maintenance records, and time sheets. Train and mentor new crew members: It may be your responsibility to train and mentor new crew members, ensuring they understand their duties and responsibilities and are following all safety protocols.
