The Opportunity: Our FSO Financial Accounting Advisory team is growing exponentially, and as a Controller you will play a critical role in supporting the execution of Integrated Finance Managed Services (IFMS) engagements, with a focus on start-up reinsurance entities in the life and annuity space.

This position collaborates closely with Central and Regional IFMS Delivery Executives and the global delivery service team to ensure accuracy, compliance, and excellence in all financial activities. The IFMS Controller will assist in various finance-related functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all financial activities. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with Central and Regional IFMS Delivery Executives and the EY’s offshore service delivery team to address operational challenges and communicate delivery performance and risks effectively.

Work alongside the Service Delivery Executive to monitor service delivery health, identify potential issues early, and drive resolutions for performance deviations or client-impacting concerns.

Provide support for accurate and timely financial reporting for offshore reinsurance entities in accordance with applicable accounting standards including IFRS, US GAAP, and offshore regulatory requirements (e.g., Bermuda, Cayman, or other relevant jurisdictions).

Assist with the preparation of regulatory filings and statutory financial statements for offshore domiciles, including submissions required by local insurance authorities.

Collaborate with actuarial, capital reserving, and reinsurance teams to support technical accounting for complex insurance transactions, including treaty evaluation (insurance risk vs. investment risk).

Assist with maintaining internal controls, documentation, and processes to ensure compliance and operational efficiency across offshore entities.

Lead the general accounting function, including monthly and quarterly close activities, reconciliations, and variance analysis for reinsurance portfolios.

Oversee audit schedules and liaise with clients and external auditors during annual and interim audit processes.

Contribute to the continuous improvement initiatives in financial reporting, systems, and process automation, collaborating with IT and project management teams as needed.

Provide technical accounting guidance and support to managed services clients, including preparation of memos for complex insurance transactions and new accounting pronouncements.

Coordinate with the EY Technical Accounting Advisory Group to address technical accounting matters raised by managed services clients.

Contribute to cross-functional initiatives, including system enhancements, financial process improvements, and ad hoc projects in response to client needs.

Proactively identify opportunities to deploy AI and agent-based solutions across workflows, partnering with technology and data teams to operationalize at scale.

Assist the Commercial Management Office by monitoring scope changes and supporting the resolution of commercial and contract-related matters. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA), active status required in your workplace location

7-10+ years of accounting experience, with a focus on financial reporting and compliance.

Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP, US STAT, and offshore regulatory requirements for insurance/reinsurance entities (e.g., Bermuda, Cayman, or other relevant jurisdictions).

Experience with preparation of statutory reporting/principles for offshore insurance authorities is highly desirable.

Experience with finance systems, process improvement initiatives, and systems implementation.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.

Working experience with SAP, FloQast, Alladin, ServiceNow is a plus.

Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
