General Accountant

Summary:


As a General Accountant, you will be responsible for period-closing journal entries, maintaining fixed assets, reconciling cash, preparing balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting various accounting projects. This position will work closely with senior accounting staff to help create processes and procedures, while focusing on ensuring accurate financial records and reports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare period-closing journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and update the fixed asset register, including tracking acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation schedules.
  • Reconcile cash accounts on routine basis.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
  • Assist with various accounting projects, as assigned.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the integrity of financial data and support operational needs.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance accuracy through more efficient and effective processes as part of our culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure proper adherence of internal controls to maintain the integrity over financial reporting.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate for this position should have the following skills, professional experience, and educational background:

  • Excellent accounting skills, including knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Effective communicator with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with people at all levels throughout the organization.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team
  • Ability to manage tasks efficiently, prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with ability to adapt to changing requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookup, etc.) and Outlook applications.
  • Infor Finance and Supply Management and/or NetSuite experience preferred

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • 2-5 years of general accounting experience.
  • CPA license, or progress towards certification, preferred.

The salary range is $70,000-$82,000 with an expected target salary of $80,000. Pay will be based on several factors including the candidate’s education, work experience, work location and specific job duties.

As part of the team, full-time employees will receive a comprehensive benefits package, which includes health, dental, vision, life insurance, short term disability, employee assistance program, 401(k) with company match and discretionary funding, tuition reimbursement, supplemental parental leave, jury duty, and bereavement leave. Full-time employees will receive a minimum of 10 days’ vacation, 10 days sick, 10 days paid holidays and one floating holiday every 12 months. In addition, we offer an annual discretionary bonus (based on eligibility).
