Genetic Counselor - Lab Based -Remote

<p>Labcorp is seeking a US Remote Based Genetic Counselor to join its team of Lab Based Genetic Counselors. This is a position perfect for an organized, thorough, energetic Board Certified Genetic Counselor who is interested in genetics, client services, laboratory operations, and business. This position will primarily be supporting Labcorp’s Genetics and Women’s Carrier Screening performed at our San Francisco, CA and Westborough, MA laboratories. This is not a patient facing role.</p><p></p><p><b>Work Schedule:</b> Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm pacific time zone</p><p></p><p><b>Job Responsibilities: </b></p><ul><li>Review incoming samples for clarity of physician orders; identify cases that do or may require additional information; contact clients for urgent resolution or complex cases</li><li>Provide technical expertise to clients regarding optimal management of pregnancies at risk for rare single gene disorders; help clients understand and interpret both diagnostic and screening results</li><li>Manage all aspects of sending and reporting specialized genetic tests, including taking incoming client call, reviewing specimen requirements and the need for parental samples, as indicated</li><li>Utilize multiple laboratory based computer applications to ensure proper scheduling of specimens submitted for molecular testing</li><li>Review and release molecular test reports under the direction of the Clinical Molecular Geneticists (Westborough lab only)</li><li>Collaborate on publications and other projects as opportunities arise</li><li>Enjoy benefits including a competitive compensation package, CEU educational support, and reimbursement for genetic counseling certification.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Minimum Qualifications: </b></p><ul><li>Masters degree in Human Genetics or Genetic Counseling</li><li>American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) certification</li><li>2 years or more experience as a certified Genetic Counselor, post completion of Masters program</li><li>Massachusetts and California state licenses in Genetic Counseling or ability to obtain prior to start date</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Preferred Qualifications: </b></p><ul><li>1 year or more experience of prenatal and/or carrier Genetic Counseling</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Additional Job Standards: </b></p><ul><li>Highly organized, including excellent time management skills</li><li>Strong multi-tasking ability with excellent attention to detail</li><li>Excellent communication skills, both written and oral</li><li>Strong computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office</li><li>Previous experience with LIS systems highly desired</li><li>Ability to quickly learn new tasks</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Application Window Closes: 5/28/2026</b></p><p></p><p><b>**Pay Range:</b> $85,000 - $130,000 / year  <br>All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable <span style="overflow-wrap: break-word; display: inline; text-decoration: inherit; hyphens: auto;">degrees/certifications,</span> as well as internal equity and market data.<br> </p><p><b>Benefits: </b>Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than <span style="overflow-wrap: break-word; display: inline; text-decoration: inherit; hyphens: auto;">20 hours, Casual,</span> Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible <span style="overflow-wrap: break-word; display: inline; text-decoration: inherit; hyphens: auto;">to participate in</span> the 401(k) Plan. Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
