Head of Partnership Analytics

About Ethos

Ethos is a leading life insurance technology company on a mission to protect families by democratizing access to life insurance and empowering agents at scale. With its robust three-sided technology platform, Ethos is transforming the life insurance experience for consumers, agents, and carriers alike. Ethos offers instant, accessible products and a seamless online process that requires no medical exams and just a few health questions; it eliminates traditional barriers, making it easier than ever for everyone to protect their families. Ethos is redefining how life insurance is bought, sold, and underwritten.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Head of Analytics for the Third-Party Agent Business — the primary analytics and data science voice helping the leadership team of this business decide where to focus, what’s working, and what to build next. You’ll lead and grow the analytics team, set the strategic agenda, and make sure data and insight sit at the center of every important decision we make. Our third-party agent business is one of Ethos’s most exciting growth engines. Our agent platform enables thousands of agencies and tens of thousands of agents to serve customers with fast, instant life insurance and a world-class agent experience — replacing a 9-week, paper-heavy process with a 3-day cash cycle on Ethos. Agents on our platform multiply their earnings by selling more, getting paid faster, and offering their customers a broader portfolio of products. The business is scaling fast across Term Life, IUL, Whole Life, and beyond.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Business analytics & strategy. Define and quantify the levers that drive the business across the agent journey — sourcing, onboarding, activation, productivity, and retention. Frame the right questions for leadership and answer them with rigor.

Agent product analytics & feature testing. Stand up a sharp, repeatable testing and measurement cadence on the agent product. Bring rigor to feature development through experimentation, instrumentation, funnel diagnostics, and causal analysis.

Core data foundations. Own the foundation everything else depends on: how we accurately calculate and pay agent commissions, calculate and resolve debt, measure retention, and attribute lifecycle activity. One source of truth, across the business.

AI-powered analytics. Set the vision for how the team uses AI to automate insight generation, focus humans on the highest-leverage work, and dramatically expand self-serve analytics. We expect to be on the cutting edge here.

Team. Inherit and grow the analytics organization. Set the bar on hiring, performance, and craft. Build a team that other parts of Ethos want to learn from.

Cross-functional partnership. Be an excellent partner to product, engineering, sales, operations, marketing, and finance — connecting dots across the business and turning insight into action.

DTC annuities support. Support our growing direct-to-consumer annuities business with tracking, sales-funnel analytics, re-engagement experimentation, and a healthy A/B testing cadence.

Qualifications and Skills:

An experienced leader. 10+ years in analytics, with 5+ years building and leading teams of managers and ICs.

A first-principles problem solver. You can take an unfamiliar business question and break it down to the structures, data, and decisions that actually matter. This is the single most important attribute we’re hiring for.

Hungry, driven, and proactive. You bring extreme drive and passion to discovering insight. You move fast, give answers, and push the business forward. You set the agenda — you don’t wait to be told what to do.

Strong business analytics, with solid product analytics fluency. Equally comfortable framing a strategy question, structuring the analysis, and writing the SQL. Skilled in experimentation, causal inference, and instrumentation.

A foundations builder. Track record of fixing definitions, dictionaries, taxonomies, and data quality problems at scale.

An excellent communicator. You present clearly to executives, write a sharp memo, and partner deeply with engineering on data modeling.

B2B2C experience preferred. You’ve analyzed performance across enterprise accounts, small businesses, agents, uplines, and end consumers all at once. Fintech, marketplaces, real estate tech, and insurance are all relevant; no specific domain required.

#LI-Remote #LI-MB1

The US national base salary range for this full-time position is $211,000 - $331,000.
