High School English Teacher (2026-2027)

Overview Piper High School has an opening for the 2026-2027 school year for an English Teacher . Position will remain open until filled. Interested applicants should complete the online application and include the following: Letter of interest Resume Three current references including a current supervisor (or cooperating teacher for candidates currently completing student teaching) Copy of current license or transcripts Qualifications Applicants should hold or be eligible for a valid Kansas teaching license with applicable 6-12 English endorsement. Base salary $50,750 commensurate with experience and education based on the salary schedule in the Piper Teachers Association Negotiated Agreement. Full single health insurance paid. Job Goal To teach, guide and evaluate all assigned students in a manner which will achieve the district’s educational goals. Essential Job Functions Plans a program of study that follows district guidelines and meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of students. Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students. Guides the learning process toward the mastery of curriculum goals and establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units and projects that are clearly communicated to students. Employs instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting the district’s published objectives. Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required by policy and as requested by the administration. Counsels with colleagues, students and/or parents on a regular basis, and as requested by the administration. Assists the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing students life and conduct, and, for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure; maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner. Maintains and strives to improve professional performance and competence. Attends staff meetings as required and serves on committees in accordance with the negotiated agreement. Observes all policies, rules and regulations of the Board as stated in the policy handbook. Observes all rules and regulations of the building to which assigned.
