Your Role as an Intake Portal Processor

As an Intake Portal Processor, you will serve as the first step in the patient care process by managing incoming referrals, verifying information, and coordinating with hospitals and referral partners to ensure smooth patient intake.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Referral Processing
    • Receive and process incoming patient referrals from hospital portals and referral sources
    • Coordinate with hospital case managers and discharge planners to obtain missing documentation
    • Information Management
    • Enter and maintain accurate patient demographics, insurance, and clinical information within the EMR system
    • Provider Communication
    • Communicate with referring providers to confirm documentation accuracy and completeness
    • Documentation & Compliance
    • Maintain confidential referral records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
    • Ensure all patient information is organized, accurate, and properly documented
    • Administrative Support
    • Assist with intake workflow tasks, patient inquiries, and referral coordination
    • Support overall intake team operations and communication

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of recent experience with:
    • Medical referral processing
    • Navigating EMR systems
    • Hospital referral portals (Aiden, naviHealth, CarePort, Mayo, or similar)
    • Insurance verification and eligibility processing
    • Florida residency required
    • Access to a quiet, HIPAA-compliant home workspace
    • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills
    • High attention to detail and accuracy
    Preferred
  • Clinical background (LPN, Medical Assistant, CNA, etc.)
  • Familiarity with multiple EMR platforms
  • Experience working in high-volume referral environments
