Role Description

We are looking for a HR professional to oversee and manage all aspects of our UK Sponsor Licence. This role will ensure full compliance with Home Office regulations while acting as the Authorising Officer, Key Contact, and Level 1 User. You’ll play an important role in maintaining our ability to sponsor skilled workers and safeguarding the organisation against compliance risks.

Key Responsibilities

Sponsor Licence Management

  • Act as the Authorising Officer (AO) with overall accountability for licence compliance
  • Serve as the Key Contact for communication with UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI)
  • Operate as the Level 1 User on the Sponsor Management System (SMS)
  • Maintain and update the SMS, including assigning Certificates of Sponsorship (CoS)
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of migrant worker activity (e.g., changes in employment, absences, terminations)
Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure adherence to UKVI sponsor guidance and immigration rules
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date right-to-work documentation
  • Prepare for and manage UKVI compliance visits
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to sponsorship compliance
HR Advisory & Support
  • Advise senior management on immigration and right-to-work matters
  • Support recruitment processes involving sponsored workers
  • Collaborate with hiring team to ensure compliance in onboarding and employment practices
  • Provide training to internal stakeholders on sponsor licence responsibilities
Qualifications
  • Proven experience managing a UK Sponsor Licence
  • Prior experience acting as Authorising Officer, Key Contact, and/or Level 1 User
  • Strong knowledge of UK immigration rules and UKVI compliance requirements
  • Experience with the Sponsor Management System (SMS)
  • Ability to work independently in a part-time capacity
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
