Industrial Engineer

The Industrial Engineer executes programs, projects, and activities that provide a labor component for the pricing and costing of existing business and of new business proposals. Additionally, this role maintains an effective labor calculation system(s) that tracks the impact of current and proposed process changes on revenue and cost.

Annual Hiring Range/Hourly Rate:

  • $75,200-$80,000/Per Year

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops labor estimates for the pricing of Company services using the Company scoring system, time study data, reasonable estimates, and extensive operational knowledge.
  • Acts as the subject matter expert for labor calculation. Maintains the integrity and consistency of the Company’s labor pricing structure through detailed knowledge of customer requirements, a high level of operational process knowledge, and consistent application of the principles of industrial engineering.
  • Provides direct and indirect labor cost and price estimates for pro forma income statements used to competitively price new business proposals. Liaises with regional and global Financial Planning and Analysis to coordinate labor estimates.
  • Assists Operations, Pricing and Marketing personnel in understanding labor calculations, the impact of operational change, and analysis of the impact of new business models or pricing structures.
  • Performs detailed analysis, time studies, work sampling, and operational process modeling to verify the accuracy of labor estimates, project the impact of process change, and develop estimates for new services or operations.
  • Calculates actual operational labor costs in order to support competitive pricing and to provide a metric for operational productivity and labor demand planning.
  • Maintains structured, documented, and accessible records of labor estimates and calculations, customer details, and departmental correspondence to ensure total departmental cross functionality, consistency of knowledge, and accuracy of calculations.

Qualifications

Education:

  • BS Industrial Engineering or other related field

Work Experience:

  • 1 - 3 years in a related position or discipline

Technical Skills: (Certification, Licenses and Registration)

  • Solid MS Office skills (particularly MS Excel)
  • Solid analytical skills across different functional groups within the organization
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and reasoning skills
  • SAP or ERP knowledge a plus

Language / Communication Skills:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills
