Internal Communications Specialist

About the role

We're looking for an Internal Communications Specialist to join Crunchyroll's Global Communications team. Reporting to the Internal Communications Manager, you'll help bring our internal voice to life, strengthening culture, deepening engagement, and connecting employees around the world to our brand, business, and community.

You'll support content, events, and programming across a global, multi-channel ecosystem (intranet, email, Slack, digital signage, and more), while helping manage the processes and platforms that keep internal communications running smoothly. This is a hands-on, highly collaborative role that blends storytelling, execution, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Write, edit, and proofread internal communications across multiple channels, including intranet, email, Slack, and digital platforms
  • Contribute to narrative-driven content that highlights Crunchyroll's brand, community, and impact on the anime industry across channels
  • Partner on executive communications, including drafting emails, talking points, and messaging for key leadership moments
  • Help develop and execute internal events, campaigns, and activations that drive employee engagement and connection to key company initiatives
  • Build and maintain editorial calendars to support consistent messaging cadence
  • Manage intake processes and coordinate communication requests across teams
  • Track performance metrics, engagement, and KPIs
  • Maintain internal communications platforms and partner with IT and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues
  • Identify opportunities to improve tools, processes, and workflows, staying current on communications and technology trends
  • Assist with scheduling, budgeting, and team operations

This role follows a hybrid schedule, with three days per week onsite at our Los Angeles office.

About You

  • 2+ years of experience in internal or corporate communications, media relations within the entertainment industry at a global organization
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or equivalent experience
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to tailor messages for different internal audiences
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive, resourceful, and able to anticipate needs and solve problems before they escalate
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work across teams and levels
  • Experience working across multiple communication channels and platforms
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint or Keynote, and content management tools
  • Brings a positive, proactive attitude with strong follow-through and the ability to stay effective under pressure
  • Interest in anime, pop culture, and the broader entertainment industry, along with familiarity with Japanese culture, is a strong plus

The Crunchyroll Global Communications team is a nimble group of publicists and communications professionals who love talking about anime, our brand, and the broader streaming entertainment industry. The Internal Communications team is a hands-on team in which everyone contributes to ideating, writing and execution. We're storytellers and we connect our passionate fans - including employees - to the content they love through thoughtful content, programming and press around our fan-centric touchpoints (SVOD, theatrical, events, games, merchandise, and more).

The Pay Range for this position is listed. Actual pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Crunchyroll's Total Rewards offerings for employees.
