The Civil Enforcement Division is the civil law enforcement arm of the DOJ, but it also includes units that handle both criminal and civil matters - such as the Medicaid Fraud Unit (MFU). The MFU consists of a multi-disciplinary professional team including Investigators, Auditors, Attorneys, a Nurse Investigator and Data Analysts. The MFU conducts state-wide criminal and civil investigations and prosecutions of health care providers who fraudulently obtain payment through Oregon's Medicaid program and complaints of physical abuse, neglect and financial exploitation of patients in Medicaid funded long term care facilities or of Medicaid recipients in connection with the delivery of health care services. Legal Secretaries in the section provide a variety of clerically related services in direct support of agency programs requiring a thorough knowledge of programs and activities. This position provides support for the assistant attorneys general in preparing cases for trial.
