Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Legal Transcriptionist to work remotely. As a Legal Transcriptionist, you will be responsible for accurately transcribing and editing legal hearings and drafts from digital recordings. Key Responsibilities • Accurate Verbatim Transcription Transcribe and edit legal hearings and drafts from digital recordings with high accuracy and attention to detail. • Meeting Deadlines Meet specific deadlines for completion of transcripts, ensuring timely delivery to clients. • Quality Control Review and edit transcripts for accuracy, completeness, and quality. • Communication Effectively communicate with clients and team members to clarify transcription requirements and resolve any issues. • Confidentiality Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Essential Qualifications • Typing Speed Minimum typing speed of 65 words per minute (wpm) with a minimum accuracy of 95%. • Language Proficiency Proficiency in the English language with a good ear for foreign/regional accents. • Microsoft Word Proficiency in Microsoft Word and ability to learn and adapt to new software and technology. • Experience At least two (2) years of experience as a word processor or transcriptionist. • Government Clearance Ability to pass Government Clearance through the Office of Personnel Management, which includes a criminal background check, reference checks, and drug screening. Preferred Qualifications • Legal Transcription Experience Experience with legal transcription, court reporting, or related field. • Technical Skills Familiarity with transcription software and technology, such as foot pedals and transcription software. • Certifications Certifications in transcription, court reporting, or related field.
