Zayo serves wireless and wireline carriers, media, tech, content, finance, healthcare and other large enterprises.</span></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p><i>Location: This position can be in office in Melville, NY or hybrid or US remote. </i></p><p></p><p>As the <b>Manager, Infrastructure Standards and Engineering</b>, you will lead the engineering team responsible for establishing Zayo's data center and POP design, equipment standards, enhanced tooling, and best practices. </p><p></p><p><b>Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li><p>Oversee testing and validating new and innovative products, tools, and systems to help maximize efficiency and minimize expense.</p></li><li><p>Review and update routine design standards, best practices, and methods for the infrastructure engineering team.</p></li><li><p>Create standard engineering templates and identify and implement efficient and effective design concepts and layouts. </p></li><li><p>Develop and identify improvement processes, to help optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and increase redundancy utilizing labs and test beds.</p></li><li><p>Approve, review, and develop: Designs, Methods, Products and Vendor Support.</p></li><li><p>Identify cost saving opportunities and create plans to realize.</p></li><li><p>Proactively identify any deficiencies or risk concerns and initiate corrective actions immediately.</p></li><li><p>Interview and select new teammates while building development plans for current teammates to grow their career.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Expectations: </b></p><ul><li><p>Research, review and test new technologies and equipment to support network POP Infrastructure, utilizing labs and test beds.</p></li><li><p>Support and develop conceptual designs and best methods.</p></li><li><p>Collaborative work done in a way that balances educated decision making with measured speed of <span style="overflow-wrap: break-word; display: inline; text-decoration: inherit; hyphens: auto;">implementation. </span></p></li><li><p>Ability to influence conversations and work through building relationships, thoughtful framing of issues, and building influence through excellent work. </p></li><li><p>Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to present complex information in a clear and simple format. </p></li><li><p>Ensure long-term development & retention of key personnel through formalized training programs, performance management and assessment, mentoring, and career pathing. </p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Experience/Minimum Requirements: </b></p><ul><li><p>10+ years of experience in data center/central office design and management within telecommunications environments required. Demonstrated strong interpersonal, administrative, and project management skills, including the ability to effectively prioritize work.</p></li><li><p>Working knowledge with AC/DC power systems, including DC rectifiers, batteries, power distribution, and cable sizing. Practical, real-world experience preferred over theoretical knowledge.</p></li><li><p>Working knowledge of data center infrastructure, including generators, UPS systems, HVAC, and fire suppression systems, with a solid understanding of their operation and maintenance.</p></li><li><p>Strong project management capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects within a team environment and thrive in a fast-paced setting.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Preferred Experience: </b></p><ul><li><p>Expertise of BMS/EMS systems and reporting including facilities equipment provisioning</p></li><li><p>Working knowledge of datacenter standard certification and reporting; SDS, TEIR II, SOC, ESG, ERP</p></li><li><p>Working knowledge of Telcordia installation standards</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><span style="overflow-wrap: break-word; display: inline; text-decoration: inherit; hyphens: auto;">Education/Certifications: </span></b></p><ul><li><p>Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.</p></li><li><p>Datacenter design certifications strongly preferred.</p></li><li><p>HVAC and electrical training or certifications preferred.</p></li><li><p>Telcordia installation standards certifications preferred.</p></li></ul><p></p><p>#LI-MF1</p><p>#LI-Remote</p><p></p><p>Estimated base salary range: $87,600 - $134,700 USD/annually plus bonus.</p><p>The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan.
