Marketo Platform Architect (B2B) | (Contract)

Summary

Bounteous is seeking a B2B marketing automation Platform Architect to lead high-priority implementation projects and ongoing platform support. This role involves interfacing with cross-functional teams to deliver digital customer experiences. The ideal candidate will possess a strong affinity for data and process, with expertise in industry trends, marketing automation enablement, demand generation, lead management, and B2B campaign best practices. This position requires a desire for continuous learning and applying subject matter expertise to client needs.


Must Have

  • Lead discovery efforts to gather necessary information from clients and internal team members.
  • Develop deep knowledge of each client's business and available data.
  • Translate business needs into detailed technical requirements for platform configuration, data schemas, and system integrations.
  • Lead platform configuration and development of digital marketing campaigns across all channels.
  • Oversee development, testing, and deployment of platform work.
  • Provide support to development teams working on platform integrations.
  • Create Architecture and Technical specifications documents.
  • Serve as day-to-day technical platform SME to internal and client teams.
  • Work closely with project management team to manage workflow and deadlines.

  • Understand and evaluate how data is stored, processed, or transmitted, ensuring compliance with data privacy and protection standards.

Bounteous is looking for a B2B marketing automation Platform Architect to lead high-priority marketing automation implementation projects and ongoing platform support. This position sits within our Technology team, but will regularly interface with a large, cross-functional team of developers, solution architects, marketing strategists and digital marketing specialists to help bring digital customer experiences to life. As such, the ideal candidate will be dynamic and flexible with a strong affinity toward data and process.

This position necessitates knowledge of varying industry trends, marketing automation enablement, demand generation, lead management, B2B campaign best practices and associated B2B marketing technologies, so the ideal candidate should possess a desire to continually learn, improve and apply subject matter expertise to individual client needs.

Information Security Responsibilities

  • Promote and enforce awareness of key information security practices, including acceptable use of information assets, malware protection, and password security protocols
  • Identify, assess, and report security risks, focusing on how these risks impact the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets
  • Understand and evaluate how data is stored, processed, or transmitted, ensuring compliance with data privacy and protection standards (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
  • Ensure data protection measures are integrated throughout the information lifecycle to safeguard sensitive information

Responsibilities:

  • Lead discovery efforts to gather necessary information from clients and internal team members to appropriately understand business needs and solution requirements for lead management and B2B digital marketing efforts
  • Develop deep knowledge of each client's business and available data to ensure platform solutioning is on par with client's marketing and sales objectives
  • Translate business needs into detailed technical requirements for platform configuration, data schemas and system integrations to deliver against business needs
  • Lead platform configuration and development of digital marketing campaigns across all channels supported in B2B Marketing Automation platforms (email, SMS, push notification, social, web, events, etc)
  • Oversee development, testing and deployment of platform work completed by developers
  • Provide support to development teams working on platform integrations
  • Create Architecture and Technical specifications documents
  • Serve as day-to-day technical platform SME to internal and client teams
  • Work closely with project management team to manage workflow and deadlines across multiple, simultaneous platform-related projects and change controls
  • Provide support to senior team members throughout project estimation and Marketing Automation discovery / roadmapping engagements, as needed
  • Provide support to internal Campaign Operations team for ongoing platform and schema optimizations, as needed
  • Direct technical implementation of features, as needed, as a minor percentage of overall responsibility

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related business or technology field, or equivalent work experience required
  • 5 to 10 years experience in a Software Development role working with data-driven applications
  • Minimum of 2 years working with Marketo and CRM systems as a Platform Architect, with demonstrated experience leading 3+ platform implementation projects
  • Experience serving as a Marketo Subject Matter Expert, with knowledge of various platform modules and capabilities
  • Familiarity with commonly-requested Marketo integrations and associated B2B technologies (CRM, Webinar, Sales Enablement systems)
  • Marketo and CRM certifications preferred
  • Experienced data modeler in relational database systems
  • Experience writing SQL queries for Select/Insert/Update/Delete, including knowledge of multi-table joins and outer joins
  • Proficiency with Apache Velocity, Munchkin, REST/SOAP API
  • Experience or familiarity with HTML, MJML, CSS and responsive email coding a plus
  • Agency experience preferred, with 2+ years experience in a client-facing role and knowledge of overall agency structures and agile project management methodologies
  • Solid understanding of B2B campaign management, lead / account management, audience segmentation methods, industry best practices, communication legal compliance, and downstream marketing automation analysis
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Comfortable working with all levels of an organization and capable of communicating as effectively with technical staff as with business and management
  • Familiarity with a variety of marketing automation platforms and marketing cloud solutions a plus (Pardot, Eloqua, ClickDimensions, Act-On, Adobe Campaign, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or similar)
