Key Responsibilities

  • Listen to and accurately transcribe dictated medical reports, including clinical summaries, patient histories, discharge summaries, and other documentation.
  • Review and edit transcriptions for grammar, clarity, and accuracy, ensuring all reports meet Acusis quality standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations in handling patient information.
  • Follow specific formatting and style guidelines as per client requirements.
  • Submit completed work within assigned deadlines and participate in feedback sessions to improve accuracy.
  • Collaborate with quality analysts and senior transcriptionists to resolve discrepancies or unclear dictations.
  • Stay updated on medical terminology, procedures, and transcription best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in any discipline (life sciences background preferred).
  • Excellent command of English language, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Strong listening skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology (training will be provided).
  • Proficiency in computer operations and typing (minimum 35–45 words per minute preferred).
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.

Experience

  • Prior experience in transcription, editing, or healthcare documentation will be an added advantage but not mandatory.
