APM Terminals

Purpose of the Role
Support, secure, and modernize the networking infrastructure that powers 24/7 terminal operations. Collaborate with Regional and Global IT teams to deliver modernization, standardization, and cyber-resilient networking aligned with enterprise strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Network Operations & Support
    • Maintain and support IT and OT networking environments, ensuring 24/7 uptime.
    • Proactively monitor network performance and availability using SolarWinds, Grafana, and other enterprise monitoring tools.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve networking incidents within agreed SLAs using ServiceNow.
    • Partner with operations teams to address communication issues with cranes, CHE, and other critical systems.
  • Change & Modernization
    • Execute network changes with zero unplanned service interruption following proper CAB processes.
    • Drive lifecycle replacement of legacy equipment and eliminate single points of failure including budgeting, and full upgrade plan.
    • Participate in global modernization initiatives, including virtualization, private LTE, and emerging industrial networking technologies.
  • Security & Compliance
    • Ensure network configurations align with enterprise cybersecurity standards and industry regulations.
    • Perform daily security audits to verify access misuse.
    • Support compliance audits and implement secure architectures across LAN, WAN, WLAN, and OT segments.
    • Maintain full visibility of network health and risks through SolarWinds dashboards and reporting.
  • Documentation & Planning
    • Develop and maintain network topology and flow diagrams for all business applications.
    • Provide architectural reviews and impact assessments for new technologies and industrial IT initiatives.
    • Contribute to disaster recovery planning and business continuity strategies.

Accountability

  • Ensure 99.5%+ availability of terminal networks.
  • Timely resolution of incidents and requests in ServiceNow.
  • Execution of first-time-right change management.
  • Ongoing optimization and modernization of network monitoring via SolarWinds and other tools.
  • Delivery of secure, scalable, and cost-efficient infrastructure services.

Success Metrics

  • Service Delivery: Network availability, performance, scalability, and SLA compliance.
  • Cybersecurity: Strict adherence to APMT security standards, data policies, and controls.
  • Operational Integration: Reliable support of business-critical applications and industrial technology.
  • Process Validation: Work with LEAN team on creating proper work instructions for all network related processes.

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Willingness to work in rotating shifts (every 8 weeks, or as needed).
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise networking (LAN/WAN/WLAN, VLANs, routing, switching, firewalls, wireless).
  • Hands-on experience with SolarWinds, Cisco Prime, or equivalent monitoring platforms.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting using Wireshark, AirMagnet, or similar tools.
  • Experience with wireless networking (802.11 and Private LTE).
  • Proven ability to design and implement secure, resilient network architectures.
  • Ability to collaborate with vendors for fiber testing/cleaning and infrastructure upgrades.
  • CCNA certification minimum, with 4+ years of practical networking experience.
  • Strong documentation skills, including maintaining network flow diagrams to industry standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask across incidents, projects, and change programs in a high-availability environment.
  • Basic knowledge of virtualization technologies, particularly VMWare (vSphere, ESXi, or related)
  • Familiarity with virtual machine deployment, management, and troubleshooting in a VMware environment is a plus

Pay Range: $115,000-$135,000*

  • The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
