HOLSTON ACADEMY Seasonal Part-Time, Monday - Friday The anticipated start date is in April 2026, and the duration of seasonal employment is not to exceed 3 months. Holston Academy, a Stanza Education School is a virtual school designed to provide students with an education that is centered around them, from the learning experience to the flexibility of the schedule, to the courses they take. Students can enroll part-time to supplement their education, or full-time to pursue their interests and prepare for what’s ahead. How You Will Make an Impact The Online Teacher will plan, organize, and implement an appropriate personalized program in an online environment that guides, supports, and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential, using data and technology. The Online Teacher will help lead their department and support school-wide initiatives that improve teaching and learning for all stakeholders. This Position will collaborate with other instructional staff and school personnel to support the student’s academic plan. This position reports to the Head of Schools or the designee. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job. • Promote and support the School’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values in all interactions with families and educational practices. • Provide meaningful, timely feedback on assignments via the Learning Management System (LMS). • Deliver virtual or in-person instructional sessions using best practices in online learning. • Facilitate online class discussions to promote engagement and learning. • Plan and deliver instructional activities to support student learning. • Welcome new students within one business day of enrollment. • Guide students in goal setting and progress monitoring. • Collaborate with the Academic Coach, parents, and students to assign appropriate courses of study. • Foster a respectful and high expectation learning environment by modeling positive behavior. • Establish and communicate clear learning objectives and content standards. • Monitor and document student progress and communication in the Student Information System (SIS). • Implement targeted interventions to support student success. • Communicate with students and parents at least weekly via phone, text, email, or other electronic means. • Review and evaluate coursework within 48 business hours of submission. • Administer, proctor, and grade assessments, offering feedback and retries to support mastery learning. • Maintain availability during school operating hours. • Ensure student records are maintained in accordance with administrative requirements. • Work independently and efficiently, using sound judgment in a fast-paced, multitasking environment. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: • Knowledge in a variety of educational programs, specifically focused on private schools. • Ability to learn Student Information and Learning Management Systems. • Ability to motivate students and parents toward achieving good academic standing. • Ability to work with culturally diverse student populations. • Ability to handle, analyze, reason, and resolve problems. • Ability to keep and maintain accurate and detailed reports. • Ability to understand and follow directions. • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines. • Ability to exercise good judgment in setting task priorities. • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team. • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality. • Strong verbal and written communication skills. • Excellent attention to detail, strong time management and organizational skills. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Valid State Teaching Credential is preferred but not required. • Teaching experience required; Experience teaching in an online learning environment is preferred. • This is a remote position. • Strong technology skills, Intermediate or Advanced, or Expert skills in MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Google Apps are preferred. • English Learner Authorization preferred but not required. • Able to work in a rapidly growing and changing environment. • Strong customer service focused approach with a commitment to student achievement. • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
