Nelnet Business Services (NBS) is hiring a Platform Engineer to own, scale, and optimize our HubSpot instance as a critical component of our go-to-market technology stack. This role is responsible for the architecture, automation, data integrity, and integration of HubSpot across marketing, sales, and revenue systems.

The ideal candidate is a technically proficient problem-solver with hands-on HubSpot administration experience and a proactive mindset. They will work closely with Revenue Operations, Product Marketing, Sales Operations, IT, and Customer Success to support scalable infrastructure that enables both internal teams and external users, powering campaign execution, lead management, and revenue reporting.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own the overall architecture and health of the HubSpot platform, including Marketing Hub, Sales Hub, and all active integrations, ensuring reliability and scalability as the business grows.

  • Design and maintain scalable workflows, automation sequences, and lifecycle stage management processes that align with GTM objectives.

  • Manage and optimize HubSpot’s data structure, including properties, objects, associations, and pipelines, and enforce data governance standards across the instance.

  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency across HubSpot and connected systems, proactively identifying and resolving data quality issues before they impact reporting or operations.

  • Build and maintain integrations between HubSpot and the broader tech stack, including data warehouses, sales engagement tools, enrichment platforms, and CRM.

  • Troubleshoot system issues and perform root cause analysis across workflows, integrations, and data flows, driving timely resolution and preventative improvements.

  • Partner with Marketing, Sales, and RevOps stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical configurations and automation solutions within HubSpot.

  • Support campaign execution by enabling audience segmentation, personalization tokens, and performance tracking across email, forms, and landing pages.

  • Establish and maintain documentation, naming conventions, change logs, and best practices that support long-term platform scalability and team onboarding.

  • Monitor platform health and proactively identify opportunities to improve system performance, reduce technical debt, and eliminate redundant processes.

  • Manage user access, permissions, and roles within HubSpot, ensuring appropriate security controls and compliance with internal IT standards.

  • Contribute to revenue reporting and attribution modeling by maintaining clean pipeline data, supporting dashboard builds, and collaborating with data teams on reporting requirements.

**Pay Range for this role is - $75,000 - $95,000

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, Business, Computer Science or related field preferred. Equivalent technical experience may be considered.
EXPERIENCE:
  • 2-4 years of hands-on experience administering and building within HubSpot (Marketing Hub and/or Sales Hub required).

  • Proven ability to implement HubSpot from requirements through deployment, connecting marketing, sales, and data systems into a cohesive, reliable tech stack.

  • Demonstrated expertise in HubSpot workflows, lists, properties, lifecycle stage management, and pipeline configuration.

  • Strong understanding of marketing automation, lead management, and B2B demand generation processes.

  • Working knowledge of APIs, webhooks, and automation tools (e.g., Zapier).

  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on data quality, system reliability, and clean architecture.

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex system issues and drive root cause resolution.

  • Experience supporting marketing and sales teams in a B2B SaaS or technology environme
