Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world.</p><p></p><p>We have an outstanding career opportunity for a Principal Specialist, Global Trade, who will own and support certain export/import licensing and compliance activities for a varied portfolio of programs within Raytheon's Advanced Technology (AT) Strategic Business Unit (SBU).</p><p></p><p>The successful candidate will participate in export/import strategies to support international capture, program and supply chain efforts. The position will work closely with internal stakeholders to prepare, submit, activate and manage export and import authorizations, enabling efficient, timely and compliant transfers (exports/imports) of technology, technical data, hardware and services globally. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a high-energy, fast-paced environment and collaborating with multiple business functions for success.</p><p></p><p>This is not a customs or logistics position and requires direct experience in global trade licensing ITAR and / or EAR. </p><p></p><p><b>What You Will Do</b></p><ul><li>Assist with the development of export authorization strategies for the international marketing, sales, support, offshore procurement, and manufacturing of defense and dual use articles.</li><li>Prepare and submit quality export/import license applications, agreements, eligible <span style="overflow-wrap: break-word; display: inline; text-decoration: inherit; hyphens: auto;">exemptions/exceptions</span> and other requests for USG approval.</li><li>Provide export/import authorization status updates to leadership and capture/program teams.</li><li>Participate in strategic business engagement at the program level to ensure business execution, growth and compliance.</li><li>Provide consistent interpretation of International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR) to SBU employees.</li><li>Facilitate approvals for the physical export/import of hardware and other transactional activities involving controlled goods, information and services.</li><li>Work with peers and stakeholders to determine and certify appropriate legal authority for exports of dual-use commodities and technology, defense articles; hardware, technical data and defense services, including determination of the appropriate export authorization, exemption, or exception.</li><li>Represent Global Trade in meetings and discussions with internal and external stakeholders.</li><li>Assist in implementation of company procedures and instructions to support compliance with U.S. Government export/import regulations and company policy.</li><li>Participate in compliance assessments and investigations.</li><li>Develop and deliver training for employees engaged in international business activities.</li><li>Review and approve technical and non-technical information, as needed prior to release to non-U.S. Persons.</li><li>Act as a resource for entry-level Global Trade personnel.</li><li>Conduct Record Management activities periodically.</li><li>Minimal domestic travel - up to approximately once per quarter.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>What You Will Learn</b></p><ul><li>Understanding the complexities of U.S. trade laws and how to navigate them from a company policy perspective.</li><li>Evaluating risks related to international trade.</li><li>Developing export/import strategies to mitigate risks.</li><li>Best practices for export documentation and international trade procedures.</li><li>Cross-functional collaboration in a large Global Trade organization.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Qualifications You Must Have</b></p><ul><li>Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years' experience</li><li>Experience researching and/or applying ITAR and EAR regulations</li><li>Experience applying for, managing, and transacting against ITAR and EAR export authorizations</li><li>Experience with DECCS, SNAP-R, SAP-GT, OCR EASE or similar Global Trade tools and/or systems</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Qualifications We Prefer</b></p><ul><li>Ability to maintain responsive and collaborative online presence throughout daily Team interactions and shared workflows</li><li>Flexible, cooperative and collaborative to adapt to changing U.S. Government and customer requirements</li><li>Problem solver to present recommendations to solve business challenges and address situations before issues arise</li><li>Self-motivated and results oriented to make and drive decisions and work under time sensitive circumstances managing priorities of multiple tasks</li><li>Attention to detail and follow through on assignments to achieve desired result</li><li>Relevant advanced Degrees such as Master of Business (MBA) or Masters in International or Legal Studies</li></ul><p></p><p><b>What We Offer</b></p><p></p><p>Our values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world.
