<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><h3><b>Job Description</b></h3><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><h2><b><span>Overview</span></b></h2><p></p><p>We are seeking <b>a Process/Chemical Engineer Energy - Remote.  This remote position is based out of our Oak Ridge, TN office.</b></p><h2></h2><p></p><h2><b><span>Your role</span></b></h2><p></p><ul><li><p>AtkinsRéalis US Nuclear is the subsidiary of AtkinsRéalis focused on serving government and commercial clients within the Nuclear sector in the United States. </p></li><li><p>We are focused on being recognized as a premier nuclear solutions company in the United States, delivering engineering, operations, and project management services.</p></li><li><p>Serves both legacy and new build nuclear clients who are designing, building, upgrading, operating and maintaining nuclear power generation and fuel cycle assets. </p></li><li><p>We are a growing business, building on the foundation of our US government fuel cycle business, our international position as an Original Equipment Manufactor (OEM) and nuclear reactor technology provider, and our world-wide nuclear new build and legacy nuclear fleet maintenance experience.</p></li><li><p>Executes Small Modular Reactor and nuclear fuel cycle facility projects.</p></li><li><p>Develops and conceptualizes system architecture, flow diagrams, and <span style="overflow-wrap: break-word; display: inline; text-decoration: inherit; hyphens: auto;">piping/instrumentation</span> diagrams (P&IDs) for nuclear facilities, auxiliary systems, or fuel cycle models.</p></li><li><p>Performs rigorous evaluations to ensure that systems, structures and components maintain chemical safety, criticality controls, radiation shielding, and defense-in-depth principles under normal and off-normal conditions, including accident scenarios.</p></li><li><p>Ensures that all engineering designs align with local, state, and federal standards, including DOE or NRC regulations.</p></li><li><p>Selects, tests, and specifies mechanical components, valves, and vessels to ensure they withstand highly regulated and hazardous environments.</p></li><li><p>Evaluates test or validation data to improve the efficiency of existing nuclear facilities.</p></li><li><p>Develops key design deliverables such as Process drawings, Process Flow Diagrams and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams/Engineering Flow Diagrams.</p></li><li><p>Prepares, checks and/or approves calculations including mass, energy and flow balances, and pipe and equipment sizing.</p></li><li><p>Prepares engineering documents such as specifications for process equipment.</p></li><li><p>Ensures that design deliverables are of a high standard and compliant with relevant standards, regulations and customer specific standards, including nuclear quality assurance standards.</p></li><li><p>Ensures that design consultants and sub-contractors deploy suitably qualified and experienced personnel.</p></li><li><p>Produces documentation that is technically accurate, grammatically correct, correctly formatted and professionally presented.</p></li><li><p>Develops resolutions to technical issues and ensure necessary change control is implemented.</p></li><li><p>Performs other duties as assigned.</p></li></ul><p></p><h2><b><span>About you</span></b></h2><ul><li><p>Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.</p></li><li><p>Minimum of two (2) years post-baccalaureate experience.</p></li><li><p>Previous experience providing engineering support to nuclear facility design, construction or operations.</p></li><li><p>Strong communication skills in a challenging, multi-tiered environment.</p></li><li><p>Strong organizational skills.</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of key NRC regulations, design codes and standards for commercial nuclear facilities required. </p></li><li><p>Knowledge in the use of related design software codes, including process simulation software.</p></li><li><p>Professional Engineering (PE) License desired.</p></li><li><p>Design of Commercial and Department of Energy nuclear reactor projects.</p></li><li><p>Design of Commercial and Department of Energy nuclear fuel cycle facilities.</p></li><li><p>Nuclear Steam Supply System (NSSS) Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) experience.</p></li><li><p>Must be a U.S. citizen in order to be considered.</p></li></ul><p></p><h2><b><span>Rewards & benefits</span></b></h2><h2></h2><p>At AtkinsRéalis, our values—Safety, Integrity, Collaboration, Innovation, and Excellence—are more than just words.
