The impact you’ll make

As a Production Test Technician (PTT), you areto perform testing and troubleshooting on complete wafer fab equipment modules.

What you’ll do

Responsibilities:
  • Supports Manufacturing activities such as test & troubleshooting software or hardware of the wafer fab equipment modules. Applications used may include electronic circuits, photonics, and logic systems.
  • Works from work instructions, schematics, diagrams, and appropriate documents. Works with layouts or defined plans to perform testing and trouble-shooting functions.
  • Assists in technical troubleshooting and improvement opportunities/Kaizen.
  • Act as a buddy to junior PTT when required.
  • Understands and can operate all test equipment. Uses manufacturing, test, development, or diagnostic equipment, including, but not limited to, test programs, oscilloscopes, signal generators and specialized test apparatus.
  • Effectively read and follow work instructions for proper product assembly function
  • Escalate problem and/or solution to appropriate group
Other Responsibilities:

Safety Protocol

  • Complete all required safety training
  • Adhere to personal and product safety guidelines by:
  • utilizing appropriate PPE following clean room procedures
  • following Lockout Tagout policies and procedures (LOTO and ZEST)
  • utilizing fixtures (lift hoists, lift track, gantry cranes, lifting tool) to aid in the assembly of tools
  • Perform Risk Management By Walking Around (RMBWA) inspections and document, correct and/or escalate safety issues/hazards to appropriate individuals/departments
  • Supports safe work environment by responding directly and quickly to unsafe practices; escalates to next level manager (safety representative, lead, supervisor, manager); and escalates any unresolved issues (incorrect use of hoist, poor placement of tools/cords/ladders, etc., not using cones or barriers, PPE misuse)
Communication:
  • Provide timely information and responses to supervisors and co-workers by phone/written form/email/in person
  • Communicate verbally and in writing to appropriate groups/locations when:
  • Identifying production issues
  • Suggesting continuous improvements
  • Giving system status during shift pass downs
  • Participate in meetings and training actively.

Who we’re looking for

  • Minimum Diploma in Electronics & Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering
  • 6 - 8 years of related electrical and electronics testing experience depending on level
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Be flexible and responsive to changing priorities including but not limited to rework, overtime and potential limited travel to other Lam/customer facilities
  • Utilize computer-based data systems and applications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
Job Requirements:
  • Work 12hour shifts in fast paced and time-sensitive environment
  • Squat, kneel, walk, climb, stand and operate in ergonomically- challenging positions for over 50% of time
  • Able to lift up 35 pounds
  • Perform repetitive motions using hands and various hand tools
  • Distinguish between colours for wire identification
  • Use Hand Tools including but not limited to: Calipers, Circuit tester, Wrenches, Hoists, Ohm meters, Screwdrivers, Torque wrenches, Ladders/platforms, Snipping tools/cutters
