Job Description Drive the strategy and execution of advanced automated test systems that enable successful new product introduction and scalable manufacturing. In this role, you will lead cross-functional efforts to ensure product testability from design through production, delivering high-quality, cost-effective, and reliable test solutions that improve speed to market and operational performance across Rockwell Automation's manufacturing environment. You will have a hybrid schedule working at either Milwaukee or Mequon, WI and will report to the Manager of Manufacturing Test Engineering. Your Responsibilities: Provide technical leadership to improve automated test processes for new product pilots and prototypes Lead cross-functional teams to design, deploy, and support automated manufacturing test systems Participate in product design reviews and provide design-for-test feedback to ensure testability and coverage Develop test plans for completed assemblies based on product requirements Manage projects across product lines, including timelines, deliverables, and cost targets Develop and manage project budgets, capital expenditures, and financial performance for test initiatives Lead procurement, installation, consolidation, and retirement of test equipment Design electrical test systems, select components and instrumentation, and collaborate with vendors Develop and debug test software to control electrical and mechanical test systems Create and release documentation including test specifications, schematics, BOMs, and user guides Apply Lean Six Sigma tools to drive test system qualification, problem solving, and continuous improvement Provide technical support to resolve complex test system issues and minimize production downtime Lead process improvement and cost reduction initiatives Mentor and guide team members on test system design, strategies, and best practices The Essentials - You Will Have: Bachelor's Degree in Relevant Field. The Preferred - You Might Also Have: Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (EE), Electrical Engineering Technology (EET), Electrical Engineering/Computer Science (EE/CS). 8+ years' experience as a test engineer contributor in a team oriented multiple project environment, including design and development of test equipment for production. Ability to evaluate a product and develop a solution for testing. Mental and visual ability to independently design, develop and implement software using multiple programming languages (including C, C++, C#, NI Test Stand, Visual Basic, PLC, etc.). Candidate must have the ability to read and interpret new product designs consisting of electronic circuit schematics, electrical and mechanical equipment design drawings, bills of materials, design and functional specifications. Knowledge of electronic hardware design processes and mechanical design concepts. Self-directed and able to adjust to changes in priority and scope. Excellent troubleshooting, analysis, and problem-solving skills. Good written and verbal communications in English. Proficient using Microsoft Office programs.
