Job Summary
Cigna, a global health services organization committed to improving the health, well-being, and peace of mind of those we serve, is seeking a Remote Billing & Claims Representative to support Accredo Specialty Pharmacy, a leader in specialty medication management.
In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring accurate billing, claims processing, and reimbursement for specialty pharmacy services. You will serve as a key liaison between patients, insurance providers, and internal teams, ensuring claims are handled efficiently, compliantly, and with a strong focus on customer satisfaction. This position is ideal for detail-oriented professionals who thrive in a fast-paced, regulated healthcare environment and are passionate about delivering exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
Process and submit medical and pharmacy claims accurately and in a timely manner
Review billing data for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with payer requirements
Investigate, analyze, and resolve denied or rejected claims, including initiating appeals when necessary
Communicate with insurance carriers, patients, and internal departments to resolve billing and claims issues
Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, and prior authorization requirements
Maintain detailed documentation of claim activities in internal systems
Ensure adherence to HIPAA, CMS, and other regulatory guidelines
Meet productivity, quality, and compliance benchmarks established by Accredo and Cigna
Provide excellent customer service while handling sensitive financial and health-related information
Required Skills and Qualifications
Strong understanding of medical and/or pharmacy billing and claims processes
Proficiency in navigating claims management and electronic health record (EHR) systems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
