Job Summary

The Elite Job is seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Remote Prior Authorization Pharmacy Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you will serve as a critical liaison between healthcare providers, pharmacies, and insurance payers to ensure that patients receive timely access to prescribed medications. You will review and process prior authorization requests, verify insurance coverage, and communicate effectively with stakeholders to resolve issues efficiently. This remote role offers flexibility while contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and process prior authorization requests for prescription medications accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Communicate with healthcare providers, pharmacies, and insurance companies to gather necessary information for authorization approval.

  • Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage limitations.

  • Document all interactions and maintain accurate records in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to prior authorizations and follow up with appropriate parties.

  • Assist in educating providers and patients about insurance requirements and medication coverage.

  • Collaborate with pharmacists and other team members to ensure a seamless workflow and exceptional patient service.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associates degree in Pharmacy Technology or related field preferred.

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credentials highly desirable.

  • Strong understanding of pharmacy operations, insurance processes, and prior authorization requirements.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with healthcare providers and insurance representatives.

  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and prior authorization software.

  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.

Experience

  • Minimum 1–3 years of prior experience as a Pharmacy Technician, preferably with prior authorization experience.

  • Experience working with insurance claims, prescription processing, and pharmacy benefits is highly advantageous.

Working Hours

  • Full-time position with standard business hours (flexible schedules may be available).

  • Remote work from home; occasional meetings may require video conferencing during specified hours.
