[Remote] Product Manager-Dental

The Product Manager-Dental role is responsible for ensuring dental products remain competitive in the marketplace by researching market trends, coordinating product introductions, and serving as a subject matter expert for dental product information.


Responsibilities

  • Serves as subject matter expert and point of contact for dental product and contract information for specific partners
  • Research current market trends and competitor data to identify gaps in the dental offering and maintain dental portfolio
  • Reviews Federal guidelines to determine if product meets regulatory requirements
  • Recommends future products based on market research, customer requests and sales strategies
  • Coordinate’s introduction of dental products to market with sales, marketing and operations
  • Assists in the development of communication plan with each impacted department
  • Creates and provide Sales training as needed
  • Works with print vendors to create collateral materials for open enrollment or marketing campaigns
  • Works with software application vendors to design and maintain dental rating engine and contract management systems
  • Ensure dental products meet business needs and support corporate strategy
  • Maintains Dental product competitiveness by identifying issues, barriers and concerns and recommending appropriate course of action
  • Facilitates resolution of issues
  • Ensures solutions meet business need and overall business direction
  • Serves as subject matter expert and point of contact for dental product and contract information
  • Participates in cross functional workgroup to discuss ongoing product enhancements and current projects which may impact dental products
  • Analyze and coordinates the development of new dental products, retirement of outdated products and benefit enhancements based on market trends
  • Reviews dental plans and benefit summaries for accuracy during the proposal process
  • Reviews policy language and coordinates updates to fulfillment/renewal materials with the Blue Partner
  • Works with the Actuary to determine if annual rate changes are needed
  • Revises product proposals, benefits summaries and other legal documents as needs change, receiving approvals from Legal/Compliance and other appropriate authorities prior to implementation
  • Works with Marketing to create dental materials
  • Provides product specific information for internal and external customers via manuals, forms and partner specific communication
  • Develop channels such as Dental Sales Administration bulletins, Blogs, Communication bulletins, Website Content for Partners and managed websites and Customer Service bulletins
  • Supports and involved in enterprise projects
  • Review and maintain Blue Plan partner dental website and ensure compliance with CMS guidelines
  • Provides product specific information for internal and external customers via manuals, forms and partner specific communication channels such as Dental Sales Administration bulletins and Customer Service bulletins
  • Supports and involved in enterprise projects
  • Improves processes, develops procedures and program improvements to meet customer needs and department goals
  • Facilitates projects when necessary to ensure project outcomes. Ensures output supports corporate direction and strategy
  • Maintains product information on key systems: Collateral Catalog, Sale support tools, rating system and dental websites
  • Responsible for coordination and publication of the Provider Directory by working closely with Provider Relations
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, seminars or online classes
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned

Skills

  • Working knowledge of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), including employer compliance obligations, reporting, and regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge of Current Dental Terminology (CDT)
  • Knowledge of product life cycle management
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently under little or no supervision and within time constraints
  • Ability to manage multiple complex tasks and coordinate competing priorities appropriately
  • Advanced knowledge of dental products is a plus
  • Experience in coordinating the development, implementation and management of website content
  • Experience in development and execution of branded collateral including content creation and management
  • Advanced knowledge of product development processes including marketing, sales, training, and distribution models
  • A global approach to problem-solving and decision making
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills including the ability to address a wide range of audiences
  • Bachelor's Degree or commensurate experience
  • 3-5 years Dental or Health Insurance experience or 2 or more years supervisory and/or team lead experience
  • Or, equivalent military experience
  • 3+ years Product Management or Product Development experience; Dental Insurance or relative experience in a Dental office
  • Experience in project management and implementation
