Sales Representative, Head Start Programs • Compensation Base salary of $75,000–$90,000 per year, depending on experience, plus a performance-based commission of up to 50% of base salary. The Opportunity As our Head Start Sales Representative, you'll drive adoption of Learning Genie's purpose-built Head Start solutions — including our in-kind tracking tools, family engagement platform, and AI-powered educator tools — across Head Start and Early Head Start agencies nationwide. You don't just sell software. You speak Head Start. You know what PIRs, ERSEA, in-kind match, and federal monitoring mean without Googling them. You understand what keeps a program director up at night — and you show up with real solutions that address compliance, family engagement, and child outcomes all at once. This is a field and inside sales hybrid role with a national territory, a long and rewarding sales cycle, and unlimited potential to grow with a company that's genuinely changing lives. What You'll Be Doing 🎯 Build & Own Your Pipeline • Develop and manage a national pipeline of Head Start grantees, delegate agencies, Community Action Agencies, school district-based programs, and tribal Head Start agencies • Balance field outreach, conference presence, and inside sales activities to maximize territory coverage and relationship depth Sell Consultatively — Not Transactionally • Conduct compelling demos for the full Head Start stakeholder ecosystem Executive Directors, Head Start Directors, Education Managers, Family Service Managers, Fiscal Officers, and Policy Council representatives • Navigate the dual Head Start governance structure — engaging both Governing Bodies and Policy Councils — to build true organizational buy-in • Position Learning Genie's in-kind tools, family engagement features, and AI capabilities as direct solutions to HSPPS compliance needs and program goals • Make the case for AI-powered tools confidently and credibly — even in front of skeptical, mission-first audiences Conferences & Community • Attend and represent Learning Genie at national, regional, and state Head Start conferences and association events • Build lasting relationships with Head Start association board members, regional T/TA specialists, and program leaders • Turn every conference into a pipeline-building and trust-building opportunity Operate Like a Pro • Manage long B2B SaaS sales cycles from first contact through signed contract • Collaborate cross-functionally on pilots, proposals, and seamless onboarding handoffs What Makes You the One 🌟 • 3+ years of sales or business development experience in Head Start, early childhood EdTech, or long-cycle institutional B2B SaaS — industry background is required • Deep working knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards (HSPPS), Head Start operations, in-kind/non-federal match requirements, and federal monitoring cycles • Proven ability to manage multi-stakeholder, long-cycle sales and consistently meet or exceed quota • Strong relationship-building skills with mission-driven leaders — you earn trust, not just contracts • Confident presenting and demoing AI-powered tools to audiences at all tech comfort levels • Experience attending and networking at Head Start conferences at the national, regional, and state level • Existing relationships with Head Start agencies or associations — a serious advantage • Proficient in CRM tools (Salesforce, HubSpot) and comfortable managing a remote territory independently • Prior experience as a Head Start director, education manager, family service coordinator, or T/TA specialist is a huge plus — lived experience sells Why You'll Love Working Here 💛 • 💻 100% remote • 🕐 40-hour work week, Monday–Friday (Pacific Time) • 💰 Competitive compensation tailored to your experience • 📈 Real career growth at a fast-moving, award-winning EdTech startup • ❤️ Work that creates genuine social impact for America's most vulnerable children and families This Probably Isn't for You If… • You're not genuinely passionate about the Head Start mission • Complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles frustrate rather than energize you • You prefer routine over a fast-paced, ever-evolving startup environment • You're looking for a job — not a mission Learning Genie is already trusted by hundreds of Head Start programs.
