Major Responsibilities:</u></p><p></p><p>1. Works assigned workqueues within established protocols.<br>2. Reviews and researches the processing of self-pay credit balances. <br>3. Requests refunds where necessary and/or applies credit balances to existing outstanding balances.<br>4. Troubleshoots credit files going to the bank.<br>5. Performs reconciliation on accounts.<br>6. Processes patient and Central Business Office correspondence.  <br>7. Documents all actions taken in the billing system.<br>8. Completes daily statistic summary reports/logs.</p><p></p><p><u>Standard Staffing Level Responsibilities:</u></p><p></p><p>1. Complies with established departmental policies, procedures and objectives.<br>2. Attends variety of meetings, conferences, seminars as required or directed.<br>3. Demonstrates use of Quality Improvement in daily operations.<br>4. Complies with all health and safety regulations and requirements.<br>5. High School diploma.</p><p><u>Experience/Skills:</u></p><p>Required:<br>1. Three years of relevant work experience.<br>2. Knowledge of third party insurance and medical terminology.<br>3. Computer skills.<br>4. Ability to work independently within established functional guidelines and withstand pressure that may arise when dealing with the public, physicians/clinic and staff.</p><p></p><p>Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.</p><p></p><p>Department-specific competencies and their measurements will be developed and maintained in the individual <span style="overflow-wrap: break-word; display: inline; text-decoration: inherit; hyphens: auto;">departments. The</span> competencies will be maintained and attached to the departmental job description.
