Primary Purpose:

Responsible for managing and overseeing all non-tuition revenue streams within the institution. Ensures accurate recording, compliance, and reporting of financial transactions related to auxiliary services, contracts, and other non-tuition income sources. Supports institutional financial integrity and contributes to strategic decision-making through timely and accurate financial analysis.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Reads, interprets, and reviews detailed contracts to ensure proper GAAP revenue recognition and adherence to accounting policies.
2. Develops and implements procedures and workflows to improve efficiency and tracking of non-tuition revenue.
3. Monitors and reconciles all non-tuition revenue accounts, including auxiliary services, housing, dining, bookstore, parking, and other contract revenue streams.
4. Coordinates with units for the accurate recording of receivables and ensure timely collection and recording of payments.
5. Ensures compliance with institutional policies, state and federal regulations.
6. Assists with monthly, quarterly, and annual flux analysis.
7. Manages specific reconciliations for areas such as deferred revenue, inter-company transactions, and inventory from campus departments.
8. Assists in budget development and variance analysis for auxiliary and other non-tuition units.
9. Implements and maintains internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
10. Supports audits and compliance reviews related to non-tuition revenue streams.
11. Works closely with department heads, auxiliary service managers, and other units to ensure proper revenue recognition and reporting.
12. Provides guidance on financial policies and procedures for non-tuition revenue activities.
13. Completes special projects as assigned.
14. Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Job Requirements:

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

1. Strong knowledge of GAAP and fund accounting principles.
2. Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
3. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Required Certifications/Licensures:

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree

Major (if required: Accounting, Finance, or related field

Required Experience: Six (6) to eight (8) years of accounting experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience in higher education or nonprofit sector.
2. Experience with auxiliary enterprise operations.
3. Familiarity with compliance requirements for higher education institutions.
4. CPA preferred.
