Our UK customers can also <a href="https://monzo.com/savings">save</a>, <a href="https://monzo.com/investments">invest </a>and <a href="https://monzo.com/pensions">combine their pensions</a> with us. </p> <p>With our hot coral cards and get-paid-early feature, combined with financial education on social media and our award winning customer service, we have a long history of creating magical moments for our customers!</p> <p>We’re not about selling products - we want to solve problems and change lives through Monzo ❤️</p> <hr> <p> </p></div><p>📍London/UK Remote | 💰£85,000 - £115,000 (pro-rata) +<a href="https://monzo.com/careers/"> Benefits</a>  ✨ </p> <p>We're looking for a senior leader to join Monzo’s ever growing, high performing Risk & Control team for a <strong>fixed-term period of 6 months</strong>.</p> <p>We’re looking for someone who cares deeply about understanding our business, customers and risks, who can communicate their findings clearly to business partners and can drive actions on top of insights.</p> <p><strong>You’ll lead the Controls Testing team who:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Manage a programme of controls effectiveness testing (design and operational effectiveness);</li> <li>Seek opportunities to automate testing through Data Analytics and AI;</li> <li>Provide advice on how to optimise our control suite to ensure that Monzo grows safely and that risks are managed as expected; and</li> <li>Consistently deliver improved ways of monitoring Monzo’s control performance    </li> </ul> <p><strong>⭐️ About our Risk & Control team:</strong></p> <p>The team provides support, advice and insight to our Accountable Executives in managing their risks. Relationships with them are owned by our Risk Partner teams. This role sits in our central global control shared services, responsible for providing data, systems, and insight to empower our Risk Partners. </p> <p><strong>🔑 Your day-to-day   </strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead on our programme to embed improved, risk-based controls monitoring across Monzo</li> <li>Lead on our initiative to consider the optimal operating model for controls testing and monitoring, considering how we can further improve the team’s service for its customers in a way that scales as Monzo grows</li> <li>Lead a team of specialists with good knowledge of Monzo, its ways of working and processes to provide excellent customer service to users of control monitoring outputs from across the 3 lines of defence</li> <li>Lead the team to deliver on its agreed control testing plans, reporting on findings to stakeholders and helping them to scope improvement activities (if applicable)</li> <li>Use your commercial awareness to help understand and solve controls-related problems with the greatest business impact</li> <li>Work with our Risk Data and Platform teams to improve the actionable insights from the team’s activities, driving a culture of control consciousness across Monzo</li> </ul> <p><strong>🤩 We’d love to hear from you if…</strong></p> <ul> <li>You have solid grounding risk and control processes </li> <li>You’re a strategic leader with experience of leading initiatives to improve adoption of technology and data solutions - including Data Analytics and AI</li> <li>You have experience of leading a team of highly qualified specialists in the field of Assurance</li> <li>You're impact driven and eager to have a really positive impact on the company, product, users and very importantly your colleagues as well</li> <li>You're commercially minded and can help to put controls into business perspective</li> <li>You’re as comfortable getting hands-on (delivering testing and building automation solutions) as taking a step back and thinking strategically</li> <li>You have a self-starter mindset; you proactively identify issues and opportunities and tackle them without being told to do so</li> <li>You're a team player whom your colleagues can rely on, able to build relationships with folks across our 3 lines of defence<br><br>🚩Due to the fixed-term nature of this role, applicants with immediate availability or short notice period will be prioritised</li> </ul> <p><strong>🌈 The Interview Process </strong></p> <p>Our interview process involves three main stages: </p> <ul> <li>Chat with a member of the hiring team</li> <li>Initial call with the hiring manager</li> <li>2-part final stage interview (Technical & Behavioural) with members from the wider team</li> </ul> <p>Our average process takes around 3-4 weeks but we will always work around your availability.
