The Senior Industrial Mechanical/Piping Estimator interprets mechanical drawings, piping and equipment specifications, isometrics, and contract documents to build detailed work breakdown structures and precise cost models.</p> <p><strong>Essential Job Responsibilities</strong></p> <p><strong>Project Estimation:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead preparation of detailed estimates for projects up to $75M, considering complexity and self-performance scope.</li> <li>Oversee discipline estimators on large multi-discipline RFPs.</li> <li>Validate quantity take-offs and ensure accurate input into estimating software.</li> <li>Apply advanced cost analysis and contingency planning for risk mitigation.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Technical Expertise:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Interpret and analyze P&ID drawings and other technical documents.</li> <li>Utilize HCSS HeavyBid software for accurate and efficient estimating.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Client & Stakeholder Engagement:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Represent the estimating team in client meetings, pre-bid conferences, and negotiations.</li> <li>Communicate clearly with operations, procurement, and project management teams during pre-construction.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Process Management:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Develop and enforce estimating procedures, including pre-estimate checklists and opportunity matrices.</li> <li>Oversee bid review meetings and ensure timely submission of RFIs and proposals.</li> <li>Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and company standards.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Strategic Contributions:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Provide pragmatic analysis of project execution to optimize efficiency and profitability.</li> <li>Generate high-level cash flow projections, risk analysis reports, and resource-loaded schedules.</li> <li>Support business development with conceptual estimates and ROM pricing for new opportunities.</li> </ul> <p><em>Other duties may be assigned as needed to support business operations.</em></p> <p><strong>Minimum Qualifications</strong></p> <p><strong>Required:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in i<strong>ndustrial construction</strong> estimating.</li> <li>Ability to read Interpret P&ID, Isometric drawings and other technical schematics.</li> <li>Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.</li> <li>Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite emphasis on Project Schedule and Excel Tracking.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or related discipline</li> <li>Estimating experience with HCSS HeavyBid</li> <li>Direct Involvement In civil, concrete, structural steel, equipment setting, and mechanical construction.</li> <li>Scheduling experience with MSP or P6.</li> <li>Proven ability to manage multiple complex bids simultaneously.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Physical Demands and Work Environment</strong></p> <p>The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
