Build the Legal Engine of a High-Growth SaaS Company Rentvine is a fast-growing, private equity-backed SaaS company transforming how property managers operate across the United States. Backed by Mainsail Partners and founder-led, we are scaling rapidly — both organically and through acquisition — and building the infrastructure to support our next stage of growth. We provide an end-to-end software platform supporting leasing, screening & applications, insurance, accounting, payment processing, maintenance, and marketing for single-family rental property managers nationwide. As we scale, we are ready to hire our first in-house legal leader. This is a rare opportunity to build and own the legal function from the ground up at a high-growth, PE-backed SaaS business. You will operate as a strategic advisor, hands-on operator, and business partner to leadership — shaping the legal backbone of a company in growth mode. If you are energized by ownership, growth, and impact, this is a platform role. The Opportunity You will be Rentvine’s first dedicated in-house legal hire, responsible for architecting and leading our internal legal function. Reporting directly to the CFO and partnering closely with executive leadership, you will help the company scale responsibly while enabling the business to move fast. This is not a maintenance role — it is a build-and-lead opportunity. You will: Establish and professionalize the company’s internal legal infrastructure Provide commercially minded legal advice that enables smart growth Serve as a trusted advisor to Sales, Product, Finance, and Operations Support M&A activity, including NDAs, transaction documentation, and diligence coordination Assist with post-acquisition integration from a legal and governance perspective Oversee governance, compliance, and corporate hygiene Lead and streamline customer and vendor contracting processes Develop and maintain contract templates and document management systems Ensure compliance with data protection and privacy regulations Deploying technology that leverages progressive document management systems, including AI solutions, to drive scale and operational efficiencies. Advise on IP, GenAI, real estate, employment, and broader risk management matters Manage relationships with outside counsel and optimize legal spending. Stay ahead of regulatory changes impacting SaaS and property management You will quarterback legal matters across the organization, engaging outside counsel when appropriate, while building scalable internal processes that improve efficiency and reduce risk. Who You Are You are a commercially minded legal professional who thrives in high-growth environments. You are comfortable being both strategic and hands-on. You enjoy building systems, creating clarity, and partnering with operators to move the business forward. You bring: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution Active Bar membership, preferably in Florida or another East Coast jurisdiction. 5+ years of experience in a law firm and/or in-house role Strong experience negotiating B2B SaaS agreements and vendor contracts Solid understanding of contract law and risk management principles Experience advising growing businesses across multiple jurisdictions Working knowledge of data protection and privacy regulations Exposure to M&A processes Experience managing outside counsel Interest in legal tech and automation Highly organized; clear and concise communicator Just as important, you: Think like a business partner, not just a legal advisor Simplify complex legal concepts into practical guidance Operate with ownership and accountability Willing and able to roll up your sleeves Raise your hand when you need help Value collaboration and low-ego teamwork Our Culture and Core Values: We work hard, move quickly, and expect high standards — but we do it together.
