As our Development team continues to grow, we are looking for a <strong>Senior Software Engineer, Platform Engineering</strong> to help strengthen and modernize the Medbridge Platform.<br></p><p>We hire in the following states: AZ, CO, FL, ID, GA, IL, NH, KS, MA, MI, MN, NC, NY, OH, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI.</p><p><br>The Medbridge Platform includes the core systems, infrastructure, tools, and engineering workflows that enable product teams to build, test, deploy, monitor, and operate software safely, reliably, and efficiently. In this role, you help create experiences that impact these important leaders.</li><li><strong>Our customers love Medbridge! </strong>We work with 9 of the top 10 Private Practice and hospital systems nationwide, and 6 of the top 10 home health organizations. have a nearly 100% client retention rate and are continuing that work in 2026 and beyond.</li></ul><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Improve the Medbridge Platform that product engineering teams use to build, test, deploy, and operate software.</li><li>Work on CI/CD pipelines, build systems, deployment workflows, and release automation.</li><li>Improve database reliability, performance, upgrade readiness, and operational practices.</li><li>Help strengthen our testing platform so teams can validate changes more quickly and confidently.</li><li>Improve monitoring, alerting, observability, and production readiness.</li><li>Reduce developer friction by improving local development, tooling, documentation, and shared engineering workflows.</li><li>Work with the Medbridge PHP monolith as part of the broader platform, including modernization, maintainability, reliability, and testing improvements.</li><li>Partner with product engineering teams to understand pain points and turn them into platform improvements.</li><li>Lead or contribute to cross-team technical initiatives.</li><li>Break down complex technical problems into clear plans and incremental delivery steps.</li><li>Create reusable patterns, documentation, and standards that help teams move faster.</li><li>Mentor engineers and help raise the technical bar across the organization.</li><li>Balance modernization, reliability, developer experience, and product delivery needs.</li></ul><p><strong>What You’ll Work On:</strong></p><ul><li>Depending on team priorities, you may contribute to initiatives across platform reliability, developer experience, and engineering enablement, including:</li><li>Improving CI/CD pipelines, deployment reliability, rollback processes, and build system modernization.</li><li>Enhancing developer experience through shared tooling, local development environment improvements, and engineering standards.</li><li>Strengthening testing infrastructure, automation workflows, monitoring, alerting, and observability practices.</li><li>Supporting database upgrades, operational improvements, and production reliability initiatives focused on incident prevention.</li><li>Contributing to modernization efforts across legacy systems, including PHP monolith improvements and technical debt reduction.</li><li>Partnering cross-functionally to improve platform documentation, scalability, maintainability, and long-term engineering efficiency.</li></ul><p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>Strong software engineering experience building and maintaining production systems, including backend, platform, infrastructure, developer tooling, or shared engineering systems.</li><li>Experience improving CI/CD pipelines, build systems, testing infrastructure, observability, and overall developer experience.</li><li>Strong understanding of relational databases (MySQL or similar), including working within large, mature, or complex codebases.</li><li>Proven ability to safely improve and modernize existing systems without unnecessary rewrites, while writing maintainable and testable code.</li><li>Strong debugging, problem-solving, and technical planning skills with the ability to break down complex work into clear, executable steps.</li><li>Strong communication, collaboration, and ownership mindset with the ability to operate through ambiguity and improve systems relied on across teams.</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred:</strong></p><ul><li>Experience with PHP, modernizing mature PHP applications, MVC-style frameworks, and/or Go.</li><li>Experience with cloud-hosted systems (especially AWS), CI/CD tools, deployment automation, and platform/infrastructure engineering practices.</li><li>Experience improving test reliability, automated verification workflows, monitoring, alerting, observability, and incident response.</li><li>Experience with database upgrades, performance tuning, and operational database management practices.</li><li>Background in platform engineering, SRE, DevOps, developer experience, or technical leadership/mentorship roles.</li><li>Experience working in healthcare technology, SaaS, or other regulated environments, including familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and validating AI-generated code safely.</li></ul><p><strong>Our Values:</strong>Excellence: A job worth doing is a job worth doing RIGHT.</p><ul><li>We believe that excellence is never an accident.
