Senior Solution Architect

<p><b>About the role:</b></p><p><br>The Red Hat Public Sector Sales team is looking for an Account Solution Architect to join the Federal Civilian Sciences and Space team. In this role, you will lead the development of solutions to customer IT challenges and establish strong working relationships with our customers. As the primary technical sales point of contact for the customer, you'll discover and analyze customer business and technical needs and collaborate with the sales and technical delivery teams to help our customers invest in the right solutions from across Red Hat's solutions portfolio. You'll be a key part of the first experience our customers have with Red Hat. The role requires broad knowledge of the Red Hat portfolio, continuous learning about the customer’s needs and the general IT landscape, and exceptional communication skills. You will also speak at target conferences and industry events to attract new prospective customers. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business. Permanent US residency status is required.</p><p><br><b>What you will do:</b></p><ul><li>Provide pre-sales technical leadership for the development and implementation of complex offerings and solutions</li><li>Help define the account strategy and coordinate the activities of the overlay technology teams (product specialists) and customer success teams to achieve the technical win</li><li>Gain understanding of customer business and IT environments and collaborate with sales teams to assess potential application of Red Hat's solutions, as captured in Account Plan and Customer Success Plan artifacts</li><li>Serve as a trusted adviser for the customer and assist technology stakeholders in agreeing to and delivering on expectations</li><li>Build relationships with Red Hat's customers and partners (especially with customer executives and decision makers) that result in deeper loyalty to Red Hat, strengthening of the Red Hat value proposition, and broader adoption of Red Hat's solutions </li><li>Research and write the responses to technical sections of requests for information (RFIs), requests for proposal (RFPs), and requests for quotation (RFQs)</li><li>Work with regional sales leaders to develop a go-to-market strategy for the region and assist with the delivery of strategic opportunities</li><li>Ensure that revenue and new business quotas and service objectives are met</li></ul><p></p><p><b>What you will bring:</b></p><ul><li>5+ years of experience working in sales engineering, consulting, information technology (IT) architecture, or equivalent role supporting enterprise accounts</li><li>5+ years of experience with multiple of the following, or equivalent: Unix or Linux system administration, integration, or development (preferably RHEL, Satellite, and related technologies); cloud system administration (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.); Kubernetes or OpenShift administration or developing/deploying applications in that environment; managing IT automation tools at scale (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Salt, etc.)</li><li>Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to present to small and large groups of mixed audiences, including business, technical, management, and leadership teams</li><li>Understanding of complex enterprise solutions and architectures - Identity Management, Continuity of Operations/Disaster Recovery planning, High-Availability and Clustering architectures, etc.</li><li>Ability to interpret customer business problems and technical issues and effectively explain how our solutions will meet customer needs or requirements, both in spoken word and in written form (emails, white papers, RFX activity)</li><li>Experience with industry best practices and ways of working such as: Consultative Selling, Customer Success practices, Architectural/Design Thinking, DevOps, Agile, etc.</li><li>Willingness to travel up to 50%</li><li>Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), and/or cloud technology certifications are a plus</li><li>Experience with high-performance computing and/or disconnected environments are a plus</li></ul><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p>The salary range for this position is $189,300.00 - $302,810.00 (inclusive of base pay + target incentive compensation).
