What You'll Do:

1.Database Management and Maintenance
  • Maintain and configure database systems (i.e. MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, NoSQL Database)
  • Apply security patches, updates and version upgrades as needed
2.Performance Tuning and Optimisation
  • Monitor database performance, optimize queries, indexes and storage
  • Analyse slow queries and improve database performance
  • Optimise indexing and partitioning
3.Database Design and Implementation
  • Implement database best practice and security policy
  • Collaborate with software developers and system architects to ensure database designs are efficient, scalable and optimised]
4.Security and Compliance
  • Implement security control and enforce database security policies (i.e. Access control, encryption, audit logging, secure connection)
  • Conduct periodic backup and restoration test
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (i.e. BNM, PCIDSS, SOC 2, PDPA)
  • Support security audits and vulnerability assessments
5.Troubleshooting and Incident Management
  • Investigate and resolve database issues quickly
  • Perform root cause analysis for database failures
  • Provide technical support and assistance for database related queries
6.Capacity Planning and Scaling
  • Forecast database storage and performance needs
  • Forecast event-based database usage, needs and cost
  • Optimise database costs in cloud environments
7.Automation and Scripting
  • Automate routine DBA tasks (i.e. monitoring, failover, backup, restoration, maintenance)
  • Automate approval and account creation
Role Requirements:

Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, database management, or related field
  • Professional cloud certification on DBA
Experiences:
  • Proven 3 experience in a DBA or SRE related to DBA experience
  • In-depth knowledge of MySQL database management systems and their associated tools.
Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of MySQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL database management systems and their associated tools
  • Good knowledge in managing and design database cluster
  • Strong understanding on cloud database
  • Proven implementation of database design principles, data normalisation and indexing techniques
  • Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries and stored procedures.
  • Familiarity with database security best practices and principles.
  • Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
  • Knowledge of data backup and recovery strategies.
  • Able to use automation tool to automate routine tasks
