About the position

The Visual Merchandising function is responsible for creating inspiring, premium and elevated consumer experiences and presentations for the Nike brand across the North America geography. The VM team works collaboratively across brand and business partners to develop product journeys, visual presentation strategies, styling direction as well as playbooks and training modules that create a distinct point of view for the brand at retail. This team also works directly with business, operations, and design functions to develop, drive, and scale new concepts / retail expansion across the marketplace. The VM team’s success is amplified by a connected network of world class talent across WHQ, territories, key cities, and in-store. This is a home office-based position in Atlanta, GA. (A typical week is 4 days in stores in the Atlanta area and 1 day in your home office.) WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR We are looking for curious, driven and passionate individuals who love retail and understand the power of well thought out and executed in-store visual presentations. This role plays an integral part in ensuring the brand priorities and presentation strategies & standards are implemented consistently across the marketplace! This candidate needs to be able to think strategically through both brand and business lenses and translate WHQ direction in a compelling way to inspire territory & store teams and to ensure flawless execution. We are looking for someone who is a proven people leader, has strong communication and influencing skills, and is results and solution oriented! WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON A typical week consists of regular store visits and connections with territory and store teams to ensure consumer experiences are implemented/adapted, aligned with brand expectations/standards and drive expected financial and productivity results. Ongoing team & talent development, as well as the deployment of VM training curriculum, play a large role in the continued growth and elevation of the team. You will work closely with WHQ VM partners to share feedback and best practices related to what’s working/not working and define opportunities for future seasons. This will entail coaching, development, helping with hiring decisions, driving performance management, and recognition / rewards Develop and foster strong collaboration with Retail District Directors and field leadership, Geo VM, Loss Prevention, and other cross-functional business partners Monitor territory execution to ensure Visual Merchandising & Styling standards are met and consistent while facilitating the reporting process for the Territory VMS team to the Geo VMS leadership team Ability to scale presentations (small -large) with a balance of retail theatre & commercial drivers An eye for curation, creating consumer journeys with impact, an eye for editing and bringing details to life. A deep understanding of color usage and creating highs & lows. An eye for Styling is key, ability of storytelling through the art of mannequin styling and prop usage. WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH In this role you will be working with a diverse set of teams and individuals across multiple brand and business functions, including the field and WHQ organizations. This role reports directly into the Territory Visual Manager but is expected to build and sustain collaborative working relationships with Sr. Directors of Sales, Retail District Directors, Loss Prevention, and Operations in order to ensure flawless execution in the field. You will also work closely with Geo VM functions to build a strong flow of communication to continually improve tools & direction developed by the geography and to advise the team of relevant marketplace findings and competitive trends. Additionally, you will work with a cross-functional team of brand and business partners on the mapping, opening, and sustaining of doors across your territory.
