This is a remote role with the flexibility to work virtually from your home anywhere in the Continental United States.

What the day will look like:

The Solutions Consultant is responsible for Aon Consumer Benefit Solutions using expertise in product consulting and knowledge on how those products fit on various industry platforms for prospective clients during the sales process as well as existing clients during renewal discussions. The primary focus of the Solutions Consultant is to communicate product suite and enrollment value propositions externally to prospective clients. The Solutions Consultant is responsible for assisting with the sales process from prospect stage through the hand-off to the implementation team and signed contract. In addition, the Solutions Consultant is responsible for coordinating Voluntary Benefits Carrier and Product evaluation and selection. As a key sales stakeholder, they will also collaborate with the Lead Sales Consultants on recommendations and enhancements to help us achieve excellence in sales delivery.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Maintains subject matter expertise on Voluntary Benefit products and Voluntary Benefit carriers
  • Maintains expertise in proprietary and 3rd party Benefits Administration systems
  • Articulates and communicates value proposition and key differentiators
  • Develops a high level working knowledge of other practice area solutions
  • Collaborates with Sales Leaders to communicate market knowledge and sales process and to keep abreast of operations
  • Partners with practice consulting arm to strengthen integration
  • Educates Sales Consultants on specific strategies, solutions, and industry changes
  • Maintains Request for Proposal (RFP) Content
  • Partners with internal partners for Request for Proposal (RFP) requests to ensure a streamlined and efficient process

Sales Process and Meetings:

  • Assists Sales Leaders in the development of prospect sales strategy
  • Responsible for defining the scope for the engagement
  • Enables and articulates a strong value-based message on any sales opportunities
  • Leads system demonstration in sales meetings
  • Prepares follow up client/TPE/carrier question responses with Sales Leaders
  • Performs due diligence to scope work and provide input to strategic questions required for defining the opportunity.
  • Works with the Sales Leaders to request missing information from the Third Party Evaluator (TPE), client or carriers
  • Reviews discovery document outlining the detailed solution
  • Tailors materials and demo based on solution, client need and competitive landscape
  • Collaborates on Carrier and Product Selection
  • Assists on Contract/Statement of Work creation and execution

Skills and experience that will lead to success:

  • Three plus years of employee benefits industry experience
  • Three plus years managing project schedules
  • Experience working in a highly collaborative, team-oriented environment
  • Interpersonal skills, to help negotiate priorities and to resolve conflicts among project stakeholders (such as operations, product management, and the development team).
  • Maintain a cordial and effective relationship with clients, co-workers, carriers, vendors and other business contacts. Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal, writing and listening skills and the ability to multitask and organize.
  • Sales and other client engagement experience is a plus
  • Excellent Microsoft office suite skills including Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Microsoft Access is a plus

Education:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of industry experience.

Pay Transparency:

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $100,000-$120,000 The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
