Sr Manager - International QA & Menu Commercialization

They direct Wendy’s International QA programs and partners regarding food safety, quality, nutrition, sanitation, production, CSR and animal welfare of multiple products in accordance with the departmental plan of action and regional regulations. They manager product compliance including auditing, product evaluation, lab testing, data management and other necessary management tools.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities include the management, supervision and coaching of region QA/Mencom Managers and associate staff both within The Wendy’s Company international business and indirectly within Franchisees and Suppliers. Responsible for results associated with the compliance program to be above 95%. Additional responsibilities include the development and commercialization of products with international suppliers that are required to support core menu options and innovation. They support SCM on identification and approval of secondary global, regional, local suppliers to achieve DTV goals. The Sr Manager influences and liaises with franchise leadership, and cross functional partners regarding scope and strategy of menu commercialization and product QA program requirements.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Lead the commercialization of new and improved products, ensuring specifications meet operational and quality standards. Collaborate with suppliers to finalize product development. Deliver specifications. and coordinate product launch with SCM and other cross functional partners</li><li>Develops, updates, and implements the programs, procedures, and actions necessary to effectively monitor and maintain compliance with food safety and quality specifications of multiple core products and other assigned minor products. Provides technical support to Wendy’s franchise and company store operations.</li><li>Oversee the scheduling and execution of audits of food processors to ensure attainment of the departmental plan of action and compliance with company specifications and standards concerning food safety, quality, sanitation, production, CSR and animal welfare. Ensures completion of annual third-party audits of assigned product suppliers. Conducts 30 percent of the audits. Develop solutions and provide recommendations to suppliers and/or QA personnel for corrective action for deficiencies in areas of non-compliance.</li><li>Build effective relationships with Operations, Marketing, Engineering, QA, QSCC, and Training to ensure seamless execution of innovation strategies.</li><li>Develops secondary sourcing and plant approval to support global, regional, local DTV.</li><li>Supervise International Product QA team members within regional responsibility. Manages performance and development of direct report(s), including performance and development processes, ongoing coaching & development, and performance management activities as necessary. Influences regional senior leadership on QA product related strategies.</li></ul><p>#LI-Remote</p><p><br></p><p><strong>What We Expect From You</strong></p><ul><li>Education: Bachelors Degree is required in Food Science, Meat Science, Microbiology or related field.</li><li>Knowledge of food science, HACCP, food processing technology, equipment, microbiology.</li><li>Minimum 10 years’ work experience in food processing QA or Operations or Commercialization</li><li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.</li><li>Strong computer skills and knowledge of statistical analysis – statistical process control.</li><li>Full English fluency and fluency in conversational Spanish is required.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Expected Work Location (Field)</strong>: It is expected that you will primarily perform work at Wendy's Restaurants or to other field locations as designated by the Company. When not working at a Wendy's location, you are permitted to work remotely. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and budget for the open position and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other relevant factors.
